Cracked Windshield
I have a crack on my windshield that starts on the passenger side on the edge, which then started to get bigger going to the left. Its know about 1/4 way to the middle.
I've been holding off on replacing because I'm worried that when they install the new windshield their going to mess up the tinting mirror. I've read people and thier exploding mirrors (I know it didnt explode because they got their windshield replaced) and I dont want mine to have the possible issue when they remove it and re-install it. My thinking the less movment the less likelyhood that can happen.
Can the people who have had thier windshield replaced give me their experience and also did the replacement windshield also come with that blackish matte thing around the mirror?
Thanks.

Highly doubtful, especially with the car this old. You will never get it covered under a manufacturer defect

Check at glass shops or your insurance- You might get it for nothing. Not sure about other states.
Quick search online: :Yes, you can get your windshield replaced for "free", meaning no deductible is paid, in Kentucky but you must have KY comprehensive coverage on your vehicle. If you only have liability coverage on your vehicle you will have to pay to get your windshield replaced in Kentucky."
