‘00 TL 168k.
My A/C fans stopped working yesterday and while trying to diagnose it I noticed that my radiator fans don’t come on. The fans don’t engage even when at operating temperature. It hasn’t gone above half way on the temp gauge yet. Tried a bunch of things after searching here:
- Jumped the fans to the battery and they are both working fine.
- checked the fuses and none of them were blown.
- swapped the relays and that did not help.
- jumped the coolant temperature switch and the fans never came on. When I jumped the switch the temp showed above the H and the fans didn’t engage anyways.
- tried turning the ac to max cold and max fan speed and nothing ever blew out of the ac vents and neither of the radiator fans ever came on

The only time the fans come on are when I start the car with the AC at max but they turn off after about 3-4 seconds. I haven’t overheated it yet thankfully since I caught it on a short 5 min drive to the store. I’m out of ideas since I’ve tried swapping the relays and jumping the temp switch which should have been a sure fire way to get them spinning. Let me know what you all think.
