Codes P0401 and P1739 help
I have looked for hours gathering information on these two codes and have come to find some great info as well as info for the 2g, but on the 5spd auto and not the 99 TL that I have with the 4spd auto. My tcs and check engine lights came on at the same time about two weeks ago. After a day the tcs went off and then a few days later the cel went off as well. Then about three days later the cel came back on first with the tcs light soon to follow. I got the codes from AutoZone and proceeded to replace the 3rd gear pressure switch and do the egr cleaning. Now the lights will not go off and I need to know how to clear them. I have read where if you pull the clock fuse that will clear but I pulled for almost an hour and that did not work and I also disconnected the battery for an hour and that did not clear the lights either. Is there something else that I might need to repair or replace or will these clear on their own after driving a certain amount of mileage or do I just need to have them cleared with the code scanner? Thanks for the help.

If ya pulled the #13 "Clock Backup" fuse located in the passenger side's fuse panel and also removed the battery cables.....normally the stored codes should be cleared.
What are the present codes being displayed ? Are they both still coming up ? Go back to AutoZone again to check the codes and try to clear them with their scanner.
If all else fails, go over your previous work with cleaning the EGR port passageways and also doublecheck all of the wiring connections involved with the tranny pressure switch. Very well could be something relatively simple that was possibly overlooked.
Last ditch effort, put the old pressure switch back on ? Maybe it's not communicating with the PCM ? It seemed to originally be an intermittent problem with the CEL coming on ......what was the car running and driving like before ? Is it any better or worse now ?

Had code rechecked and those two codes did clear out but now it has a P0133 Idle air sensor code. Could that have just be coincidence when I unplugged the wire for it when doing the egr maintenance? Will have them clear it and see if it comes back on. I had the same in my 96 Accord and cleaned the idle air sensor but that car was idling up and down. My TL is idling fine and is shifting better since replacing the pressure switch.

Just pull the "Clock Backup fuse" to clear the code. Ya may wanna try cleaning the IAC valve if your CEL won't go off. Yeah, probably a coincidental situation !

Yeah, quite coincidental since there was a wire that was left unplugged! Oops! TCS went right off and then pulled clock fuse and the cel went off and has stayed off so far. I did the IACV cleaning on my 96 Accord and don't really care to do it if I do not have to. Thanks for the help.
