Oh lol nvm, i htink it was that it gets rid of paint from another object that hit your car, and i know that has to be a fact cause ive done it. One time a gate like sideswiped my moms car and it left some of its black paint on her car, i just wiped that thing off using wax, although it takes a lot of rubbing with lots of pressure, but it works.

It's "deep" in the sense that it is through your clearcoat and the base paint possibly down to the primer. Remember, with paint layers we're talking micro millimeters of thickness here. It doesn't take much. The only way to minimize that scratch would be to machine polish your hood.

Keep filling it in and adding layers until it's just barley above the surface of the rest of the paint. Use a toothpick as your paint applicator, not the pen or brush that comes with the touch up bottle.
Then polish it down with a buffer and polish/light compound.
If you wet sand, just be careful and use as fine a grit as you can. After that you'll still have to polish it, then some wax to protect it.
