Center Console removal

Center Console removal
My transmission indicator light appears to have a loose connection, i.e. need to tap it to get it to come on. Does anyone have experience in removing the wood trim pieces in order to disassemble the top of the Console, or any other tips that would be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help.

Open center console lid, Grab end of wood trim pull up and out to get the wood trim off.
Have you pulled the trim rings around the shifter off yet and pulled up on the gear indicator piece to reveal the bulb? It may be working its way loose or on its way out. You can check and replace teh bulb with out having to remove the center console. I highly doubt its the connector , those dont come loose

Yes the outer ring just prys up. A small flathead with a piece of tape to help protect from marring, or if you have any fingernails you can get it up with them. Then you have to lift up on the silver cover and move that off to the side. then you get to teh indicator, which you lift up on to expose the bulb
