Hi, I have a 99TL Acura 156k miles. I've had it for 5 years now and this problem has been going off and on. Problem typically occurs on colder days/nights. I can start my car, but the idling makes a thumping and chocking noise and dies out after a few seconds. Temporary solution to start the car was to gas it slowly and enough so that the engine stabilizes. Any thoughts?

ck a spark plug for condition
do you know if the 105 service- tbelt water pump etc was done?
Clean the TB air plate with carb cleaner or deep creep
and run a can of seafoam thru just under half a tank of gas

egr port system in intake manifold cleaned? needed every 50-75kmiles,
99 had a recall to do it once and install a smooth sleeve to help.. but doesnt solve the problem- exhaust crud builds up in there ands needs to be scraped and scrubbed out

I found out it was my license plate that was loose on the front bumper that caused the vibrations.
