Welcome to the forum
be very careful of overheating the TL , anything more than 1/2 on the guage is a problem!
Driver side fan is controlled by a temp sensor in the lower corner passenger side of the radiator- look for a wire coming from the radiator--those go out all the time.
The passenger side fan is run by the AC being on

I would pull the connector to the driver side fan and check for actual power there with a 12v test light. Dont believe fuses are ok visually- try a spare of the same amp rating- the number printed on the end
But its most likely the fan sensor--- available at many parts stores.
The fan May/should run a few minutes after shutdown too
Dont forget to register with acura, see many of my post for the contact info. and at 105,000 miles you are due for a water pump and timing belt.
Could need some new coolant now too- its really good for 5 years then goes downhill.

Cooling Section
Go to your local parts store and ask if they have one. You dont need to order online,

DO NOT drive the car in this condition
Stick the needle in the red just ONCE, and in 6 months you will be replacing head gaskets.
Aluminum heads on steel block-- keep that temp perfect or else.

Agreed. Even if you don't see problems right away, down the road you will run into problems.

ok i worked on the car today did front brakes rotors and oil and full tune up.

i checked the drivers side fan with the car on idle a/c on and it gets power at the harness

the passengers fan works perfectly,

there is a temp sensor in front the the radiator under the hoodlatch relese in the center of the radior i unpluged that and the passengers side fan stops. no power at the sensor harness.

what about power to the driver side fan with the AC OFF- so its only the temp sensor in play

Are you sure you got the right sensor? I believe the one you took out in the middle is just the air temperature measure to display outside temperature on your instrument. Make sure you are taking off the sensor of the radiator.

the only place I have ever seen the radiator/coolant temp sensor, is at the thermostat housing on some years TL, and on/in the lower right rear/passenger side of the radiator- screwed into the radiator- wire comes off it to a connector

I agree that one in front center is probably for the outside air temp indicator
Stick it in a cup of ice water and if the dash reading says its 32 outside....guess whats in your hand.

Well i for one have been through numerous fans, both condensor and radiator alike

I think they must have some poor design or something, or maybe its cause I live in south florida haha one of the two

In any case if one of the fans is not working it should be changed or fixed immidiately, because you'll overheat and cause more damaged and start leaking hot coolant all over the place

that number 3 in front of the radiator is the ambient temp sensor- why it disables a fan would mean its a power source for it
Not in that page-

can you make a wire jumper from the connector to the fan and conforn the driver side fan works
Checking location of temp sensor for you- it should be in the online owner manual

how can I be more clear than look at the bottem coener -rear side- passenger side on radiator- its going to have a large nut at the radiator- nearly an inch wide and a pice coming up from there and a wire
Look farther to the passenger side for the correct one
Otherwise follow the upper radiator hose from the rad back to the engine- it will terminate at the thermostat housing- which will be 2 inches across and have a 1 inch high bump as its shape. Thats the 2 places the put them

going to check autozone help pages now for you

another check is the coolant level in the radiator (when its cold obviously). I had a similar overheating problem when idling at lights, and I had a small leak that evaporated coolant before leaving drops on the ground. The radiator was short an inch or two of coolant so I topped it off.

I'm having this same problem. Was sitting in line a taco bell last night and noticed my ac wasn't cold. temp was at about %70-hot. Scared me. I'm going outside right now to see if I can find the sensor you guys are talking about.

I'm under the impression that both fans will kick in if your motor cannot recover with the one fan.

I only have one fan on while idling, it kicks on and off as needed.

Just out of interest, have you checked you fluid levels? Too little and you'll have a problem that is not fan related.
