it first starts out with a blinking check engine light when im going down hill i ignored it because it went away after a few seconds then im going up hill and i get the check engine light again then all the lights on the dash light up like christmas and car shuts off while im going uphill.

Can you give a little more information?

Year of car? Does this happen ONLY on hills or every where? Rough idle? etc...

its a 99 TL idle is normal drives fine had a full tune up three months ago and never happens when going up hill or down hill a check engine light blinked for a sec then it went away.then a couple minutes later i was waiting at a the light uphill when i taped the gas to go up hill and the car hesitated all the cluster lights lit up and it shut off i just put it in park and it turned back on fine with no lights on the cluster any ideas what would cause that.

Ignition switch failures are very common on the 1999 TL. That might be the problem.

Try applying some force in to the key while the car is running to see if the problem occurs.

The was a recall for the 1999 TL ignition switch. If it hasn't been replaced yet, Acura will install a new one for free.

And the replacements can also fail. My 99 TL is on its 3rd ignition switch.
