2003 TL Type-S transmission problems

Hello, all. I have been lurking a while, assaulting the search button trying to figure out this pos's problem, to no avail. I am working on a 2003 TL Type-S with 200k. In the past four months, this car has had the same problems with three different transmissions. It will shift smoothly into 1st, then 2nd, but not go higher. It pulls hard, just won't find another gear. Shifts smoothly into reverse and pulls well. My friend had this problem and he took it to a mechanic friend of his. Swapped the transmission and it would only run through the gears manually, then after about 20 miles it would only go 1st then 2nd. No higher. They swapped the trans again, and it would only do 1st and 2nd again. I get here and offer to help. He ordered a trans from Japan and I put it in and did a 3x3 fluid change. Nothing but clean red fluid. It still only goes 1st then 2nd with a flashing D5 light. The codes stored were 700 and 780, and the only one that stays is 700. I'm using an older Genysis Evo 5.0 scanner. I have cleaned the screens in the solenoids and tested them. The AT Clutch Pressure Solenoid AB tests 9ohms on both sides, and the A, B, and C shift solenoids test at 20ohms. I cannot find a free download of the fsm to know what the resistance should be and it's not my car so I don't want to buy one. I am fairly certain that the transmission is fine, but that it has an electronic problem. Any help, or just the parameters of the solenoids would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

HERE is the service manual which should answer most of your questions and get you through a basic diag. Once all the solenoids are confirmed to be working I would back probe the PCM signals to each solenoid to verify good signals and grounds. Double check the main grounds to engine, body and transmission. There are also some ground wires under the throttle body that are often overlooked shown below:

Thank you very much. It had an engine put in it before all the transmissions, so that ground would be a good thing for me to check, as I understand how tempermental these transmissions are. Thanks again.
