2000 3.2 TL misfires most cylinders, P1399 SOLVED
FINALLY cured after trying many solutions I found here: NGK plugs, coils, vacuum leaks, clean EGR ports. 178,000 miles.
Was Smooth at idle, and when cold, misfires under load
New mechanic used borescope, found big carbon buildup. Bores, valves looked fine.
He removed intake manifold and manually cleaned. A lot of work, so worth it. Sensors, etc. fine.
Runs so well I’ve stopped looking for a replacement.
You can get a borescope for $15 up on Amazon.
