1999 TL Transmission and idle issue

Ok, I buy a '99 TL knowing the transmission is an issue. (private owner) Idle surges up and down after warm. Can't find vacuum leak. What is the idle valve?
Transmission is toast. Once warm won't move forward / reverse. Anyone experience with AAMCO doing work? THe warranty is best 3 year/36K, since it is daughter driving local to HS and college this appears to be better than Jasper or other source. What do you gurus say? Thanks Chris

idle problem would be the iacv. search for how to clean it. really easy and a quick fix.

with the trans, id go oem, the 4spd are a whole lot better then the 5spd trans.
