This is my first post.

I have a 1999 Acura TL. My trunk lid needs to be replaced, I got a 2003 Type S Trunk Lid for free. My question is does it fit? Also is there a DIY.

Hey Bassheatwave, it's a direct bolt on. Mark your old hinges for alignment before unbolting the old trunk lid. Unplug all the wiring which may be attached to the lid.

It's easier to repaint the new lid prior to installation. Try to get the '03 tail lamps if available. No biggie....they just look better. If the '03 lid has a wing, you should use the spring hinges from the newer lid, due to the extra weight of the wing.

Just to clear things up, there is no type-s trunklid. It may have come off a TL-S but its the same trunk as all 99-03 have.

As for a DIY. Never seen one. Remove the liner on the trunk lid, unhook the wires remove the 4 bolts and reverse. When you get the new one on, dont go and slam it shut. Go slowly to make sure its aligned and wont hit the body anywhere.
