thanks!

The black suede on the pillars and overhead are a great touch - how does it hold up against lint/dust? I know the lighter colors don't show up the dust as much.

so far i havent noticed any dust gathering but we shall see when all the pieces go in the car

BTW - I know you've been painting a lot of interior stuff, but ever thought about just painting PARTS of the seats, do a two-toned scheme like the 3G's? Specifically, black and gray?

well the duplicolor stuff i have doesnt stick to the leather, only to the vinyl parts of the seat. so like i wouldnt be able to paint the inserts unless i used SEM paint. but then it would fade after use anyways. i considered a two tone, but since my seats were originally tan, i figured one color would be easier to paint. basically i realized that painting the seats is not the best way to go haha

Anyways, I'll get on the seatbelts ASAP for yah - and I'll throw in the black floor mats if you're willing to come down here and help me take out the pillars and overhead for wrapping in suede lol

haha if we lived closer i would totally come over there and help as much as needed. but especially with school starting in a week i dont think ill have much time to make the trip. unless im able to get those front seats from you

Great job with the ride overall!
thanks again

Suede stuff and black seat and seat belts!

Finally got time to put mostly everything back together.

The front seat is reclined like that because of the connector issue im having, so no power to the seat yet. The 02 and 03 have different harnesses. The car is unusable till i fix the issue, but it gives me a chance to power slide around in my parents' Forester

on to the pics...

I think you are very balsy and I def. admire that.
Great interior work, after so much work though...especially with the suede...I think you should eliminate the red altogether. That puts it on the other side of the "line" if you know what I mean.

Just a suggestion, I think you're doing a bangup job!

YES...way to back me up. I find that with modding, there's a fine line between cutting edge and "that guy just went too far, poor car" and I feel like the lone red being added pushes it over that line. Other than that...super clean.

i like the idea of different color door inserts like the 03 TL Aspec with the blue door inserts and blue stitching. i may go with a darker red, maybe burgundy, because my cars theme is red and black. i feel like if its all black, its kind of boring. i want to make the car unique.

maybe ill make the door inserts blue like this

its really all up in the air now. its fucking freezing outside so im not taking apart the door panels anyways till it gets warmer. so i have until then to decide which direction i want to go in.

i dont remember the last time i saw a riced out Civic with red inserts.

haha jk. yeah i can see why people think its rice. but honestly why is a bright color associated with being rice?

now the fact that i painted my leather....that is rice
no.

the fact that you rattle canned your entire interior....

i converted my TL's Tan interior to black for less that $500 seats included.

everything else you have done has been pretty commendable. the interior ideas kind of just went nuts for a while.

it has held up fine for the past 7 or so months. i have all weather mats in the front so there is no real contact with the carpet. however, i have not looked under the floor mats.

the rear floor mats are painted, but because my rear seats are rarely used, no wear is visible.

Thanks!

I am thinking about making a DIY video or something, and I am definitely drawing up my own wiring diagram.

Any suggestions on where to put the button? I kind of want it to be semi-ninja, but I want people to notice it and be like, oh crap whats that? Then they can try it out for themselves

It also glows red at night. I DO NOT want to get rid of my cigarette lighter outlet. I need it for my Nav system and radar detector I sometimes borrow from my friend.

If only there was a way to use the button without having the key in the ignition; use a proximity of some kind.

Its still pretty cool tho. I'm guessing you can still turn on the car using the key and not the button right?

yeah im sure there is a way to use the button without a key, but its just more complex.

i have seen people on youtube do it with the Lexus keyless start buttons. but i havent seen a DIY or writeup yet. and i think all of those people had a Toyota/older Lexus.

and yes i can still use the key in the ignition to start the car because the S2K starter button is just tapped into the wires. so essentially, none of the original wiring has been modified.

i did this because i thought it was a pretty cool, easy, and relatively cheap mod to do. sure, it doesnt really have a function but whatever. i like it.

i still need to figure out a place to mount the button....
