Not a huge fan but I would get black. for your car. unless you feel like really standing out. I know what you mean though; each time i do a new modification i fall in love all over again. Really do go through love hate relationship with this thing....its not fast enough, not loud enough..then..new rims and a slight drop....she's perfect..

Ughhhhhhhh those A-Specs look so fucking good

Personally I wouldn't get colored lug nuts. Clean and simple ftw

im going to measure how far the extended lugs stick out tomorrow before i make any purchases of course. if they're wayyyy too long then ill go with regular lug nuts. thanks for your opinion!

though i think if i got the extended lugs, i would be the first to have them on A-spec wheels. is that correct?

I believe so. Most people, like myself, use the OEM lugs with A-Specs since they have a different bottom.

Car looks great man, I wish I had enough pictures to make a progress thread.

As far as colored lugs, I don't think they look that great on oem wheels. Just my pennies.

Very nice TL my friend.

Just wanted to chime in before you spend your hard earned $$$ that none of the lugs you've linked will work. They're all 45 deg taper seat (intended for aftermarket wheels.) The OE wheels use "ball seat" lugnuts.

You'll make a mess of things with 45 deg taper seat lugs....

Rock on

QFT, the colored lugs will disrupt the even flow of the car.

Where'd you get your armrest upholstered?

Thanks for the compliments but yes I know about the seat difference. I have cone to ball seat adapters (washers).

I got the arm rest cover from RedlineGoods.

I've taken all your opinions into consideration and I decided against any wild colors. I think I will go with either chrome or graphite colored. Thanks for the responses everyone.

Yeah you would have to mail in the pieces to them and put down a deposit. But once you install them and write installation instructions they give you the deposit back so you basically get it done free besides the cost of shipping.

That is if they don't make anything for your car already. This for the RX or the evo?

Just a little update. I kind of stopped modding this car because 1. I ran out of disposable income, and 2. it's freezing cold outside.

Mishap thread here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/crap-how-much-going-cost-me-time-840474/

3 weeks and $500 later...

New front bumper
Repainted front lip
New plastic fender lining
Refinished A-spec wheel
Alignment

I love the way it looks now. I just don't want to ruin it by putting on the front license plate.

Sorry to hear about your mishap but at least the TL is back on the road!

That black paint is starting to show some swirls. A good detail can be your springtime project

While the car was in the shop I forgot about the ballast that got killed in a rainstorm a while back. I have the HID Xtra 55W kit with 5K bulbs but I just need to find time (and a heated garage) to install them. I have a good friend who's cousin works at a local Lexus dealer. Maybe I can get in his shop after hours

They're on my list of things to buy in 2012

But first, I need to blackhouse the fog lights, replace ballast, and get a pro detail.

But even before that, I need to get an oil change, replace the subwoofer, and install the Tanabe Medallion exhaust that I finished restoring.

Winter Mode

Cell phone snap I took a few days ago. All the snow melted already since it's been in the 50s.

Hoping the F&F's don't seize this winter. The summer tires didn't do too bad either. Just gotta drive slow.

Also looking to trade the A-specs for a more aggressive setup. I will be renting a fender roller soon and doing it myself since most shops around me charge around $100 a corner.

Fender roller barely worked on mine. And it's rusting and still rubbing, so I took a crowbar and did it because I just don't give a shit.

I love the way your car is right now. Don't change those wheels, you got that fitment perfect with the aspecs. I love your car the way it is, but I was just thinking (since I always love tweaking things) why not smoke the clear part of your tail lights I think that would look awesome with the black theme, and maybe even lightly smoke the fog lights. Also why not black vinyl the very corners of your headlight that are still clear, and possibly gun metal the emblems?

As for the lugs, just leave it alone man. the wheel setup is perfect. As is, your car is gorgeous, so dont take my suggestions as one of those nitpickers who always want to point something out to change on your car. I just know if you're like me you are always thinking about new things to do regardless of how small of a detail it is.

Keep that thing clean and running right!

...man it seems like the hottest 2nd gens these days are out of NY (I know there are exceptions on here so no disrespect to anybody) but NY seems to be the largest group of clean ass rides ... jdm inspired looking in your direction haha)

Yikes. Did you do it yourself? Why did it barely work?

I've thought about lightly tinting the turn signals before. It's something that I'll probably do once spring/summer comes around.

Man the A-specs are gorgeous. I mean I literally just spent at least a few minutes just walking around the car on my driveway just drooling. But I want to take my ride up to the next level. I would love to get featured somewhere.

As for some of the hottest 2nd gens being out of NY these days? Yeah, I could probably agree with that
