xtremex626's TIMELINE (pic heavy)

I figured after owning my car for 9 months, that it's time for a timeline thread to keep all you guys updated . I don't see much timelines in the 2G section anyways . I remember browsing around other Acura forums before making the final decision that this was going to be the one. I joined Acurazine in November of 2008.

[JULY '09]

Purchased my 2003 Acura TL Type S with 94K miles from a dealer in North Hollywood. Car was completely stock. Pictures were taken the next day.

[AUGUST '09]

Still rollin' stock. Just one of my favorite picture taken at a parking structure.

[SEPTEMBER '09]

Still stock. Having misfire problems. Had all 6 spark plugs replaced by an independent shop. CEL still came on after a week of driving.

Spent $300 at a local Acura dealer for them to diagnose and fix the problem. Drove the car for a week and CEL came back on again.

Spent another $300 at a local Acura dealer for them to finally fix the problem. Found out that the intake manifold gaskets were installed upside down, restricting airflow. Replaced all ignition coils as well.

[OCTOBER '09]

Decided that after 3 months, it was time to do some simple mods.

First mod:

- Intake resonator removal

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkWqBaO4Pns

--

While still on a tight budget and other necessities in mind, I put my car ahead of them . Decided to get some MODS.

Installed:

- Injen CAI
- Weathertech Visors

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuW6Z6ZTK2c

[NOVEMBER '09]

Installed:

- LED license plate bulb
- Nokya 2500K Arctic Yellow Fogs
- Sylvania Silverstar Ultra Hi-Beam

[DECEMBER '09]

Installed:

- XS Power Headers
- 3A Racing Tips
- Injen Hydroshield
- Replaced cracked foglight lenses w/ lexan lenses
- "Type S" license plate frame
- Threadlocked cigarette lighter
- Door peeling DIY

[JANUARY '10]

New Years current status:

Installed:

- Function & Form Type I
- Honda Access Visors
- Neuspeed Strut Bar

Uninstalled:

- Weathertech Visors

--

Decided that I wanted a drop ASAP. Tired of the 4x4 look. Picked up Function&Form Type I's. This was my first set height.

[FEBRUARY '10]

Installed:

- LED Trunk, Map Lights, Shiftgate (Sorry no pics, you already get the idea)
- Tsudo SP Axleback Exhaust
- Lowered the car even more (second set height)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O1jiPNkyCg

- FEBRUARY 18 // THE DAY THEY TOOK HER AWAY.

- LAST PICS I TOOK / HOW SHE LOOKS NOW:

^ Minus those 3A Racing Tips, of course.

[MARCH '10]

Plans:

Getting her back on March 19. Already have the LED dome and courtesy step lights ordered. I'll also be doing the midmuffler delete when I get her back. And oh yeah, definately gonna slam it more and wax it.

Thanks for viewing.

Unfortunately, no. It would just sound more free flowing.

I've been thinking about headers, but somebody told me that they make the car extremely loud and resonant...Is that so?

it doesn't necessarily make the car loud .. it's the resonance that makes it loud .. and that all depends on what brand of headers you get . xs power headers are mainly the best & cheapest way to go . no resonance, gasket problems, and a perfect fitment is all you'll need. too bad they don't make these bad boys anymore .

thanks man ! i hope she comes back in one piece too .. cause i've heard impounded cars get mistreated from other forums .. hopefully they put my car on a flatbed and not one of those tow hooks

Nice progress man! I can't wait to make a thread like this for my car

I'm usually not a fan of the wing spoiler, but for some reason I like it on your car. I bet you're excited to get the car back! Give it a good detail

Thanks, I can't wait to see what you have in store! For some reason.. I really thought the wings on the 2G's really look nice, ESPECIALLY if you get a rear lipkit ie. oem or wings west .. but ever since i had my tsudo exhaust installed.. it looked even better with the wing for some reason !

Thanks man! I'm finally getting around to putting my front lip on this week and I'm going to try to be done for a while. I've done quite a bit in the last few months and I haven't really let it sink in yet. It's going to be hard not to add shit here and there, but it will be beneficial overall. My wallet won't get so light so quick and I won't bored of the car so quickly either.

But I totally agree about the wing. It really helps tie everything together. You need to slap that kit on there

thanks haha. for sure the lipkit is coming up next. that's all that's left. then slap some nice mesh rims on there with new tires , alignment , and camber kits , and possibly a drilled/slotted rotor upgrade.

thanks but don't worry , NJ roads may be shitty , but here in my city .. there lots of potholes and unpaved roads as well .. my front bumper, oilpan, and headers take alot of beating

just a small update: no more amber!

finally received my chrome amber bulbs. although they aren't that bright during the day (obviously cause of the chrome layer), these do the job well when my headlights are off, thus = no more ugly amber reflection during the daytime

if you really want leds , i suggest vleds or superbrightleds. i'm still deciding what i should do about that 168 bulb under the parking light/turn signal.

Looks like you still have the mudflaps on, how's the paint look under it? You also painted that strip by the headlight black or did you color match it?

yeah, i do still have the mudflaps on. i don't plan on taking them off until i have the oem lipkit. as for the paint, i have no idea, but all it takes is some buffing to get whatever dirt is in there off. the last time i checked, there were no chips.

as for the headlights, i sanded down the silver strip and painted it black.

How loud did the headers make your car? My cousin had headers on his hachi and compared to stock, it made his car wayy loud. I don't want anything to loud and annoying, you know what i mean?

headers don't really make your car any louder on our cars. just more free flowing you know? if anything, it'll make some resonance sound if not sealed properly with the gaskets and bolts.

but from that video .. you can't hear headers or exhaust .. only my intake
