TL weaponised: Cannons of Doom
Hey guys,
I recently swapped another member my stock exhaust for his Greddy Evo 2 catback (01+ CL) and I thought
I'd share this uncommon application on a 2G TL with you all.
I must admit the tips are ridiculous (4.5" FTMFW...haha), but they're made up for with a fantastic growl and silent cruising.
Also, the swap was free so I certainly wasn't going to pass it up.
I think she looks like a beast from the rear end now, and yes I plan to tuck the canisters a little more.
No de-badging in my future as the glue is ridiculously dry and hard (don't know how the hell I'm going to get it off).
Overall I'm quite pleased with it. I think it's a brilliant exhaust system.
How about you guys, what do you think?

looks nice man i remmeber i had evo2 on my accord 4cyl. before it was a very quiet exhaust sound until i replaced my cat with a test pipe
ive heard how it sounds on the 3g tl i bet it sounds really nice try to make a video of it
how does it sound is it really loud?
and did you have to extend the exhaust pipe to get it to fit on properley?
i was thinkin of gettin greddy evo2 also until the atlp came round now i got that coming in

Thanks for all the comments guys.
I'll try and answer all questions here to satisfy your curiosity.
1) I will repeat, they sound amazing on the throttle.
2) Fitment: It bolted right up and hung nicely. As you can see it doesn't sit right under the little cutouts for
the exhaust because it was made for the CL. The tips don't stick out past the bumper which is great.
I did not have to extend them in anyway, I'm not going to butcher this quality exhaust. I'll have another side shot to show you length.
With this big of tips it's better they sit in a little.
3) Tucking the canisters: I will not adjust the hangers but actually unbolt both the pipes to the canisters and
align them upwards a bit. I need to figure out how to get the driver's side to fit better in the bumper's exhaust gap.
4) ATLP > all: I cannot entirely agree without hearing it in person but from the videos I've seen they sound fantastic.
They are custom made and look the best for sure I must say. BUT, they're also 1000 USD and these were free so GEVO2 > ATLP for me.
5) Videos: I will do the exhaust justice and take some recordings with my brother's digital audio recorder, that way you can actually hear how beautiful she sounds.
I will try to have it accompanied with a video as well. I want to point out that there is a one more gasket to be replaced so although it still sounds excellent right now I do believe that having the gasket to the driver's side will tighten up the sound even more.
6) Sound: It's deep and mean. She roars at WOT until the intake takes over, but between 1500 and 3500 the exhaust dominates.
Once I'm cruising in 5th at about 1500-2000 rpm it's a light hum/almost silent, so highway trips and around town cruising is pleasant as ever.
I do believe it's fairly loud but in a great way that makes me want to worsen my mpg
If there's anything else I haven't covered, feel free to leave another comment.
One last thing, I do believe these look perfect with a lip and they came off another TL with a lip kit.
I've always stated that as much as I'd like a lip kit around where I live it's a terrible waste of money, so I'm gonna ride lipless and rock these cannons as is.
Oh and a BIG shout out to MYRON for getting me in contact with the other member, thanks again man

It's a full cat-back which is the best part about it.
Also, it's hanging "low" right now because I wanted to make sure that it's not too hot on the bumper before I raise it up. Also, to raise it up I have to unbolt it at the pipes and realign the canisters. I'll do that once I get the gasket for the pipe to the driver's side canister.
Vids and audio will be up tomorrow afternoon when I have the chance. No worries guys, I won't leave you hanging like other members have. I want to share the awesomeness of it with you guys since it's an uncommon application on our cars.

i love the evo2's. i have the exact same setup on my car and it came off an 03 accord coupe. had to extend it 3'' but i love the deep growl at low rpms and pretty quiet during cruising. i'd recommend to anyone.

Videos and hq audio clips!!!
Hey guys, as I said I would here at the video clips (all together in one) and a couple high quality audio clips from my bro's digital recorder.
(As mentioned, one gasket is missing but the sound is still brilliant)
Enjoy
Greddy Evo 2 Exhaust clip 1
Greddy Evo 2 Exhaust clip 2
Also, I'm not getting the lip kit. I will tuck the canisters some more though for sure when I get the chance.

I wasn't too thrilled on the tips at first either, but I've grown used to them.
Honestly, would you pass up a free 1000 USD quality exhaust that would make your car sound like a beast? I sure wouldn't, and all of my buddies said the swap would be sick.
I did it for the sound.

Yes, because I wanted to spend over a 1000 US on an exhaust...
The only reason I have this exhaust is because it was free, otherwise I had no plans to have a "performance" exhaust on my car. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Thanks to everyone who commented after the videos. I agree 100% that the tips are even half an inch too big. I would be happier with a 4" tip, although my 3A tips were ideal without a lip kit. As you heard though the sound makes up for big time and once I get the tips ticked a little better I'll post up some new pictures. I need to do it soon before it gets too cold, we already have a little snow...yet it's raining today.
