Good stuff. Question though, why didnt you paint the battery cover red too? Just trying to give it a different look? Nice combo tho of the red and gold. I wouldve done the top silver part Gold, the "3.2 Vtec" in Gold, leave the letters silver and everything else you already have.
Also might I add, its screaming for a degrease!

Despite what others say I think that color looks pretty good, though the gold probably would've been better.
When i was installing my icebox a few weeks ago I realized how ugly our engine is without the cover.

....gold rims on a black car is the definition of rice.
very Intense colour but i'm not feeling the battery cover's colour. I think it should be left black to better contrast the engine bay cover but also match the blackness of everything else in the engine bay that is black.
But the job itself is well done. Really stands out.

Here is my
I would have used a High Build Primer, Many coats of that to build it up (to get rid of the rough texture look) . Sanded that smooth, Then painted it body color
Cant tell from the high metalic and the light but its as smooth as the body (and and exact match-but hard to tell from the pics)
Looks really dark here but its the flash in a dark garage.

Thanks fsttyms1 for the advice.
I'll redo the cover if I have time, but for now I think it looks good the way it is, maybe when it starts to chip, I'll repaint it.

I agree with fsttyms1. I did mine the way that he is talking about, although it didn't come out as good as I wished it had and it looks like metal now instead of plastic. The color matches the car (SSM) and the piece in the metal is red to match the letters. Doesn't look to bad though.
