^ i feel for phil man.. as much as he wanted to keep the car.. he already invested too much in fixing it up and it just isn't worth it to keep fixing it. broken tranny was an upset and after it was fixed.. another unfortunate situation happened when his studs broke off.. it's not the first time it happened to him and i'm sure it wouldn't be the last

same boat as me.. i've already invested close to 5k on my car.. through maintenance, performance mods, aesthetics, etc.. and the main problem of my car still isn't solved which really frustrates me as gas prices go up.. i can't be getting 180 miles to a full tank consecutively. so i'm gonna be in the market for another car.. probably a GS300/400, LS400, and my last choice.. an 04-06 tl.

^i do needa mention that the gs300/gs400 is only a 1mpg difference. i wouldn't mind some v8 power while still saving just as much gas as the i6 (GS300).

Every car has maintenance fee's, and I mean why couldnt there be problems with gas on a Lex?

I hate car problems as much as the next, but no car is trouble free, especially not a 8 year car.

x2...... especially when u have real authentic wheels, with all these online feature sites nowadays, he could have easily been featured, it just takes the effort.

Now u kno getting a Lex means way more expensive fixes than the TL, I have 2 buddies that have GS300's somewhat VIP'ed and they say there maintnance bills arent pretty. And with gas rising you still have to put Prem in a lex and your going to be spending more on the gas.

my try to see why your getting the bad gas mileage and get that problem fixed, injectors maybe?? a CL guy just replaced his and now his MPG is 200 times better he said

^ would like to see a link to that.

i know lexus' generally cost more to fix than the tl but to be honest, it was my fault for rushing to look for a car too soon. i definitely regret doing that.. if i would've waited and looked for the right car.. it still would've been the tl-s but maybe with black/black or white/black. i would've second thought about getting that wing.. but it's too late now.

when and if i do get the lexus, i won't be modding it. if anything, it'll be really slow compared to the tl cause like you said.. parts are more expensive.. even aftermarket. but i rather have a more trouble free car than this generation tl. i always pump 91 in my tl-s anyways, never cheaped out on 87 or 89.

i'll definitely look into the injectors. i'm also seafoaming the car today, then i'll clean the egr ports, and then the iacv. i'll see what that does.
