Once You Go Black Can You Go Back?

LOL i thought this title was fittin to my situation, I blacked out a set of headlights for a member and test fitted it for leaking and fogging issues. I really like the way it looks on my car. may ill buy a set and black it out and switch between the two. sorry for the dark pics there was barely any lights by the time i was done.

Before

after

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet I was thinking about doing this to mine and to my tail lights in a dark tint from a company called Lamin-X. was told my TL would look hot for it being black on black . and after seeing what it looks like on white I think they was right I will be ordering my front and rear sets on Tuesday Nov. 13th

Oh great pics was they hard to put on? maybe I need to drive to your place to have you put them on if I need to. I live in sountern IL. so I could get about anywhere in about 24hrs or less

nice job.... to me tho it depends on the rest of the car's looks. smoked lights accented with a darker colored car and perhaps even a darker set of wheels looks a lot more in place than blacked out headights on a light car w/ silver wheels, etc... i guess IMO any one part of the car's gotta compliment another, for it to flow evenly.

blacked out lights on a ssm w/ silver wheels, no tint, etc... no go to me.

just IMO tho

edit. ps i wasnt speaking of your car specifically, i know you have tint. i meant in general speaking terms.

i don't think you should've blacked it out. I liked the car's look when the headlights were cleared...especailly for a silver. I think the blacked out look for the headlights only look good for either teh ABP or NBP.

well i still have my cleared set. like i said earlier i was just testing these for a member after i blacked them out for his NBP. i figured id post some pics to get some opinions. i personally like it but i need more black accents to go with it. then again i love the cleared look also.

I like the blacked out set better. Might look better if you took out the orange reflector IMO.

its funny u say that cause i told myself that if i was to switch to black headlights im only switchin if i do a retrofit. its just not possible to do it cleanly to a chrome housing set. so it very well might be in the future, we'll just have to wait and see.

i was reading your DIY yesterday, defi like the heineken can idea

Looking good! I agree that blackout headlights on your car is little out of theme, but since most people have it that way, blackout headlights on your car still looks hot and much more stand out.

pick up paint from any automotive store. i got the duplicolor glossy black. it took me about 4hrs a headlight. take apart + paint + paint 2nd coat + seal + install. set aside a good day, dont rush, you'll only screw up. most important part is to give enough time for paint to dry.

as for the tail light tint, rockblocker.com is the site u need to go to. hes also a vendor on this forum. look him up in the vendor section in the black market.

me personally if i was building a car for nopi id do paint for my headlights like i have in the pics and do tail light tint for the rear. ive seen a lot of euro guys do the tint spray and looks like absolute shit. the film gives u a nice shiney look. if you wanna see pics of the tint look up LacViet in the photo section. i also recomment cutting the white part so u have a black and white look just like LacViet
