Newest modification.. (new pics 08-11-06)

Okay so some of you know I ran into a couple of flats this weekend. This caused me to search out some new tires for my TL-s Wheels.... Here are my results:

Where I was:

What I went to:

Where I sit today:

Another shot because the one above looks like I have a flat yeah I know, but I dont!

I was a fan of the 04 wheels on a 2nd generation. But in all honesty the TL-s wheels do look alot better!!!!! I actually had plans to custom paint the interior part of the wheel.. but I think I may just leave well enough alone.

Yes Siiir!

Im tryting to get some tires for my CL-S wheels but had alot of recomendations. Isnt the stock tire size 215/50/17? Im gonna be dropped on H&R Sports and wanna know the best tire size to get. Would 235's fill the gap more and not throw of the speedo?

No rubbing because I trimmed the tabs in the rear. I am dropped on Tein springs only 1.8 inch drop.

Great choice.

I've been contemplating whether to change from the stock TL-S wheels to a set of 19s, since it's pissing me off to see the 07 model Accord. But then everytime I see my car being driven (by my wife coming to pick me up afterwork) my eyes are glued to how good it look on the car.

Again, great choice.

If the sidewall is the correct size it wont fill the gap in the wheel well, nor will it throw off the spedo. The 235 is the width of the tire, not teh height. Sop therefor it wont fill the gap. Only lowering that or going to a incorect side profile will ldo that.(but it will throw off the speedo

This thread reminds me that I would like to see the 2007 TL-S and TL-P rims on a 2nd gen TL.

Oh btw, the TL-S wheels look great! The 04+ Tl wheels didn't look that bad if you ask me.

That does look good, with the tire sticking out from the rim. You got any pics of how much you had to trim the tabs? I'm dropped on H&R Sports with the stock TL-S wheels and I think 235/45s would look awesome!

looks very stealthy liek that, def modded but subtle. if only the 17" TL-S wheels weren't 6.5" wide, damn thats thin.

The set(s) (Yes I have anothert set) were put together over a period of time. I will have to swap them out if this is the case.

Your TL looks similar to my 2003, as I still have the mud flaps (splash guards) on because the paint is grooved underneath (I'm planning on painting the flaps real soon). I have the stock TL-S wheels and the M5 lip too

I'd like to see a close-up on the back with TL-S wheels, as you wrote that you're running "ContiProContact 235/45 R17" tires on them, and you don't rub in the back because "I just trimmed the part that sticks out along with maybe an 1/8th of an inch more. "

Thanks for taking the time for the pics and representing SSM!

My flaps are being removed in the morning, along with a few other minor updates/changes!!!

Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the pics. Those are 235/45 R17s, right? I like the width and the way they tuck in on the stock TL-S rims, but I think with my H&R drop I'd rub (the gap in the rear is about 1 finger), even with the tabs shaved.

There were some early threads about paint damage under the flaps. Hopefully there isn't any on yours!

There shouldnt be any damage under the flaps that cant be removed with some buffing. So I should be good!

Yeah.. mainly because the SSM kit doesnt exist anymore (because its soo damn SEXY) so Black looks the best until it can get repainted.

Hey Special E, did you take off the flaps yet? You also wrote of some other minor update/changes. I'm curious if you found any paint damage after removing the flaps, and if you were able to just buff whatever is under them...

Flaps will come off Wednesday or Thursday right before the buffing. Tomorrow I am going to tackle swapping out the CL-s wheels for the TL-s wheels and prep for the grill meshing.

Me (TL), NASTYRLey(RL) and his brother(Legend on 20's) did a photo shoot this weekend. I will post the pics later on tonight when I get home.

I'll keep ya posted!
