New/Used Wheels dowgraded to 18s.

Hey guys,

Well after bending another one of my harts i decided to down grade to 18s. I still have my harts but im giving them a rest and ill probably switch them from time to time when i feel like rolling large haha. but i picked up a set of 18 PIAA wheels from a member in the black market. I love them personally. they match very well. plus i polished out the mufflers. since i was getting a little boared with the black. but let me know what you guys think.

Thanks guys. im glad to have gotton good feed back. i was a little sketchy on the wheels at first but when i put them on it were like perfect. haha. they have some rash from the previous owner but hey i got them for a deal and they are daily wheels so i dont really care if they get beat up. but they handle very well!!! i love them.

VoLLy_1llusioNz - The caliper color is gold. I used a Japan caliper paint called Cariper. yeah it sounds weird. i got it from back home in hawaii. I use to work for a company that brings in JDM accessories so my previous boss brought one in for me. If you want that color just let me know i think she has a couple of them in stock. she would ship it to me and ill ship it to you. its a two part paint. they give you all the brushes and everything. one set up is good for all 4. you will have to put like muliple coats. I did roughly 4 coats. on each to get it the gold that i want.

ryebreadisme - I used a Electric drill, a 4" buffing wheel, red polish compound and a crap load of Mothers and Blue magic polish. It took me roughly 8 hours to polish it out. they still have a lot of scratchs from the previous owner. he painted the mufflers black. There is only one way to polish stainless and that is to buff the crap out of it. thats the only way i found that works the best. just keep buffing at a high speed with the red compound go slow over every part of it and then finish with mothers and or blue magic. I love this kind of stuff. i always refinsh my wheels and small projects. i love working with metal. its the only thing i know of that has a great result after all the hard work haha.

LeeDan00 - Ill try and get some underhood picts. The intake is nothing special its the regular AEM CAI. The Gauges are a different story. it took me a while to get it to fit right. a lot of people dont like to do it. Took me roughly two tries and a lot of ABS welding rods. I had to melt the abs and sand. but basically you use the gauge pods from www.gaugepods.com. its made for the CL and you have to weld on a larger piece of plastic to fill in the top since the CL pillar is short than the TL. but ill get some pics up soon for ya.

thanks for the good feed back guys. its pretty hard to keep her clean in this dusty ass town. once a week spent waxing!! haha.

thanks for the pictures. everything looks great.

how hard was it to do the pillar guages? wiring, drilling, etc?

also, where did you get the blue thing that goes around your power steering and brake fluid under the hood? i've been looking for them but don't know where to get them.

The Socks are from Spoon sports. I got them from Super Autobacs. You can order them online or off ebay. the Spoon sports ones comes in pairs. the Mugen ones are individual. Im kind of a spoon sports fanatic. i bought all the radiator and oil caps to match. haha.

As for the pillar pod I bought the one for the CL and modified it to fit. Its a full pillar pod and not just a add on like the autometer one that just rivets up to the existing pod. I had to modifiy a piece of Abs to fill in the top of the gap. its roughly about two inchs too short. I did have pics of it before i modified it. I have to search for it. But yeah its not too bad. but the wiring was not too bad since i did gauges before. the crappy part is you have to run a wire all the way from the pillar to the passenger side fuse box for the parking light. but other than that its all good.

the two gauges im running is the Defi D-gauge oil pressure and temp gauge. Im running the temp for my tranny. i had to make a fitting for the sensor. but other than that i have all wiring diagrams for the TL so i just looked for it and tapped into it.

as for the carpet its the Dashmat. i got it online so just do a search and you can get it. was about 60 or 80 something like that. i forgot, i got it like almost two years ago. i did not want that dash cracking.

but yeah. i Like the wheels and i think ill be running with them for a while. but im going to switch out the tires soon. i like the 225/45s but i think im going to run 235/40s after. I love the continentals i have on but man they are a but load to buy again. but yeah ill definatly be keeping these wheels with my 19s for VIP crusing haha.

haha. yeah but for like $10 more i can get more rubber!!! LOL!!!. i know that sounded weird but yeah if i can run wider ill go wider!!! haha. i want the car to handle like a rake but still look decent.

Hey III i might lower it more. so maybe by the time you guys come up ill be a little lower and might look a lot better. i have to change a lot of my fluids since i hit the 70k so ill make sure shes ready to cruise around with ya!! haha.

Ill try and get some pics of when i had my 19s on. Im thinking of refinishing them all over. im probably going to do something different with them.

III - HAHA thanks. but small kind hard when you can avoid a metal plate going through the whole road. haha. not like back home you can dodge the plates and or HOLEs in the ground. i remember back home in hilo we had one big wash out and man i swear the hole almost ate my integra. haha. 205?? are you crazy!!! haha. its going to look like this BMW at my work place with 25 series tires.

SSMTL01 - yeah i like going wide!!! haha. handles better and less tire wall flex. well just have to wait and see what ill do. ihave to budget it my $$$ since i just bought a house...
