My 03 TL(S) With DVD and Chrome Wheels

Hey! Beautiful cars everyone. Here are some pics of my baby. I put her up on cardomain also, please rate her if you like.

http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/2079437

I've got 18" Chrome Panther Rush wheels, Kenwood Touchscreen DVD/MP3/WMA player below my Navi, 4x Alpine 5 1/4" speakers inside, and 2 Alpine 10" subs in the trunk. All speakers are powered by JBL amps and the tint is brand new too (slightly below the legal limit ). Also pictured with 40 series Toyo tires.

I elected not to lower it because of the hit I will take on tire tread and the potential for scraping the bottom, and I like the way it looks now... it's a classy car and I didn't feel that lowering would be a huge visual benefit.

I'm going to work on tuning it next... starting with a cold air intake and exaust. Eventually I would like to get new cams and headers installed to get it over 300 horses. Anyone have any suggestions about what direction to take with this baby?

the outside would def look 10X better if you dropped it. i dont know why, but your car looks abnormally high. you most likely wont bottom out unless you get the OEM bodykit

Well everyone seems to be in agreement about dropping it. I'm beginning to rethink the idea... I'm told that dropping the car would cause my tire wear to be uneven and result in a significant loss in the overall mileage I should expect to get from my tires. Is this true? Also, will I need sway bars to stabalize it? I don't really want to put a body kit on it, especially if I'm going to drop it. How much of a drop would you suggest? 2"? 2 1/2"? I do not want to have my tires scrape up under the wheel well or scrape my body over speedbumps, etc... I need advice!

Thanks again to all

...u'd need a pic of the side profile and to tell us the offset. as mentioned before, it does look like it had a lift or something.

My TL has not been lifted. It has the stock springs. I think it may look high because I replaced the stock 17" wheels and 50 series tires with 18" wheels and 40 series tires. So, I think I gained an inch on the wheel, but lost a little more then an inch on the tire. Anyway, I was thinking about a 2" drop. I just need to know what brand springs would work the best and what the end result will be as far as wear on my tires, etc... I'm also wondering if I need to install sway bars? I just need advice at this point... but I'm seriously considering lowering my ride. Should I move this thread to another section?

you really need to lower it - makes these cars look SOOOO much better. I would say no more than 2.5 inches - probably more around 2 inches would be the best. not too low, but enough that you can tell and you will have better handling.

It will only change your tire wear if you slam it - just an inch or 2 wont do a thing. Mine has been lowered for over 1 year and everything is fine - I still have the stock struts also.

Basically you wont have to change anything else unless you really slam it. I would go with the H&R sport springs if I could do it again.

x 100000

H&R Sport Springs are perfect drop. I used to have Eibach pro kit springs (2.1 front 1.7 rear) and the car would scrape easily tho it did look nice. H&R Sports are perfect.

and no ur not gonna need swaybars to stabalize or nething. Ur gonna wear out ur struts faster (which reminds me i need new ones) but other than that, just align the wheels after 2 weeks with the drop and ull be fine. U think the car looks fine now but ull kick urself after dropping it for not doing that first.

BTW: dammnnn good job with interior, looks really nice.
