While that engine is out, I would do a really thorough engine bay cleaning. Glad everything is moving along nicely for you. I have a lot of respect for you that you are tackling this task on your own. It will pay off in the end. A lot of people will be surprised just how fast that car is. hahah

I'm sure fsttyms1 can verify that.

Yup thats exactly what I told him. Take advantage because when I try and clean my engine bay it takes forever with that damn tooth brush I use

LoL it was all Joes crazy idea to do it in the schools garage. After we took out the motor we mounted it on a hand cart and pushed it down the street into the his building, up the elevator and into his dorm lol fun times.

Shoot, they may just throw it off the side of the parking garage LOL! Better yet, just leave it sitting there and let others wonder just who the hell left an engine sitting there. But, I assume they can get some money for it somehow. I bet once they get that 6 speed in, they may forget all about that old engine/tranny!

You know whats funny, people driving in and out of the garage looking at us lifting out the engine lol. Not something you see everyday in a parking garage. Also all the people walking around outside when we were pushing the engine down the street haha. There's a first time for everything right?

I love it when noobs drive by to see some dude standing inside the engine bay of the car.. shit's hilarious. lol

wow parking garage! where do you bring the motor after you take it out? haha
Like Mario said, we brought it... took us 25 mins to walk back to my room.... but.. we made it to my dorm room and threw it in the living room. lol Just to give you an idea how crazy this is, let's put it this way... I wake up to seeing the car seat next to my bed. lol

You're doing your swap in a parking garage? Wow. So far so good.
"When there's a will, there's a way".... me?.. i'm willing to have no more tranny problems... so I found a way. the cheapest way possible.. the school's parking garage. LOL Love the central air that passes through when I get too hot and sweaty. haha

Hope the po-po's don't roll up on you all! What you all are doing in the open like that looks suspect than a mugg LOL!!! Two dudes taking engines out...those people must be like..WTF? SECURITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SECURITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!
hahaha, I was some what worried about that, but security doesn't mind at all... there was only one dude that had a problem with me working in the garage and doing mechanical work, but every other guard's cool and just pass by to check up and see if everything's okay. As for the cop (some of them here are assholes)... if he was like "what are you doing with that engine sir?" my response? "Didn't you know? .. I traded in your mom for it.. here's the receipt" lol

lol, I could picture 2 dudes walking around with a motor. Looks like that floor under the car is gettin pretty messy, gonna power wash it after you get her up and running?
I'm not sure, my current plan? Buying one giant sponge. That thing soaks up anything! haha. Probably degreaser would be good. It is getting messy down there, you're definitely right about that.

better make sure they don't deem un-runnable cars for towing bro!
Actually, I told the head of security that I wouldn't be able to move the car since I'm half way through the job, so he gave me permission to finish. I'd just have to find away to clean up the mess after.

Some more pictures...

So, we decided to take pictures of Mario's car since no one knows what it looks like while we procrastinated with the engine job... so here it is everyone...

And then the next day, Vinny came over and contributed to the project

Nice joe. good luck with the conversion. man there is a first for everything. i did not see you converting in the parking garage. haha. thats sweet at least they let you do that. glad to see my old wheels are holding up well. haha.

i was reading your comments on how you guys are doing the swap and i was thinking the same thing pulling a motor in a parking garage and rolling the engine down the road haha. looks like someone would be ripping off the car haha. man i would have paid to see that. must have been funny as hell haha.

Hmmmm 20 LEDs eh? Is this pic the result of the 20 leds working?( I realise its not complete yet)

A little excessive but whatever works and as long as you are happy with the results. How many leds did you put in series per set?
