Just lowered (new pics)
So bought a set of used 98-02 Eibach Sportline springs off craigslist and took me 5 hours and a 12 rack of corona to put on. I'm happy with the drop but my tires are super fat looking now. Rolling on 215/50 17 I need to get a lower profile I think.

The wheels are 17x7.5 Sendel S16.
The tires I actually have on right now, 215/55/17 are actually a bit larger than stock 205/60/16. I believe 225/50/17 would match stock circumference but I couldn't find a set of those cheap so I settled for something close. The speedometer is about 2.4% off according to miata.net's tire size calculator.

thanks ya'll!
I'm worried to go wider because I'm already rubbing when I make sharp turns. I def can't wait to get to some meets this year, hopefully I'll have the type s lip kit before then!

Other than OEM lip kit, I plan on getting:
new struts
front/rear drilled/slotted rotors from BrakeMotive
debugging trunk
possibly Tsudo or Comptech axle back w/mid muffler delete
projector retrofit
whatever my budget will enable me to do next pretty much

so the legend calipers are 2 piston huh? hmmm i will have to remember that. yeah for $145 i like the price.
@mbp_tl
i saw the diy by sportsautotech and am probably going to get either the mini d2s or fx-r projectors they offer. i would LOVE to get S2000 ones but ehhhh idk if i can justify the price tag that comes along with them lol
i would love to do the retro next but still am a bit scared to heat my lights up hah

Looks nice man. Im gonna be lowering mine soon. Wanted to do it myself but Im not too familiar with stuff like that. Is it pretty complicated or easy enough to figure out?

Do the retrofit. So easy...just make sure the projector is placed correctly in the houseing before sealing up. I F'd that up and am gonna have to open mine up again and trim and adjust.

overall the difficulty of the lowering was simple...but time consuming. i used 2 3/8" socket wrenches with 14&17mm deep sockets, a 14& 17mm open wrench, spring compressor, and a hex bit socket set.
i did the fronts alone, which were super quick--about 1.5 hour for both. the rear was a b*tch because i stripped the strut rod trying to get the bolt off so do be cautious when you tackle the rear--since i stripped it i had to use an impact wrench to get the bolt off. otherwise when doing the rear, have someone with you unless you have arnold schwarzzenager body strength to do it alone. the rear took me about 3 hours to do lol but overall it's so worth it--its amazing how much a few inches of drop can change the appearance

i really really want to do retro but its hard getting the balls to haha. is it better to use the heat gun or oven to open the lights up?
