getting ready for paint

my car was keyed a few weeks ago (you may have seen the thread with pics)

took it apart all on my own

tomorrow is the side skirts (couldnt get 1 screw off on each side), the tail lights, side view mirrors, rear lip and fender liners.

need to buy a few misc screws that have been misplaced over the years :o and possibly new fender liners because they are all cracked.

i hate to see it like this, but i love doing this stuff.

more pics tomorrow.

ha, an easier question would be... whats NOT different?

they are completely different dude. first off, they are from a '99-'01 Inspire. if you look at the '99-'01 TL mirrors and the '02-'03 TL mirrors, they look slightly different.

the plug that comes outs of the JDM mirror is different than the TL one and it has a different amount of wires.

the switch that control's the mirrors has different amount of wires as well.

then there are 2 type-s of relays for the JDM mirror. a 5-wire relay and a 7-wire relay. i bought a 5-wire relay before i found out there was also a 7-wire relay. i have no clue which one is the correct one.

so yea, i need to find someone who is electrically inclined to take on such a task. know anyone?

bxscig: i'll take better pics of the wires of the INSPIRE mirrors and take pics of the stock mirrors wires.

thien: the difference is just in the way they look, the '99-'01 TL mirros are sllightly different. they are rounder, while the '02-'03 mirros are ediger i guess you can say. i'll take somes pics of both of them side by side when i get a chance.

......don't get me wrong man i love the PF mirrors but don't u think that giving up the look of our 02-03 mirrors is too much of a sacrafice?

......I'd just sell them and use that money towards the JDM PF mirrors for your year. I know they're expensive but that's what I'd do.

mask off the entire muffler! I see cars driving around with painted mufflers around here, it looks bad. Other than that it looks great!
