Felt a little spaced out today...

So I installed my spacers and rolled and pulled my rear fenders.

New specs are

Front:

18x8 +30
235/40-18

Rear:

18x8 +25
235/40-18

No rubbing right now, probably because I have 1 finger gap all around. Now I just need to experiment with lowering bit by bit to see how low I can safely go without shredding my tires more.

Also got new mufflers installed. I'll try and get a sound clip soon if people are interested. I REALLY like the sound.

The spacers

Front:

Rear:

Side profile at current height

Needs moar low. And a wings west rear lip. And a new paint job.

I bought mine already blacked out from another member. Or are you asking how to physically take off the housings from the car?

Well you're all gonna cringe but I honestly jacked the car up, stuck a piece of 2x6 between the tire and fender, lowered it back down onto the wood, and pried away until I got a nice curve. It may not be the proper way to do it but the results speak for themselves. The fact that I can fit a 235 tire with +25 offset and no camber kit is pretty cool.

Make sure to use gratuitous amounts of heat!

You have big balls dude haha so you heated the outside fender and lowered it slowly until you saw it pull out, then how did you pry the wood, just with your hands?

Yup. Well wood is really soft so the fender actually wont do anything until you push down on the lever arm (the 2x6) and work the fender until it flares out. Eventually the piece of wood I was using molded to the shape of the curve of the fender so there was even pressure when I was prying.

Except your car is a trillion times more shiny. I want new paint badly. I was also considering vinyling the car myself. Maybe I could do some of the easier panels and then if I'm having trouble I could get a shop to do the rest.

I know what you mean. The 235s look so skinny to me now though haha. I want to go wider now. I think my future setup in the rear will be 18x10 +25 with a 275/35 tire. I'm not a big fan of stretching tire.

Very nice man. What spacers did you get I'm looking to get some 10 mm just don't know what brand. Once you go lower you will need some clearance up front, if you go 215 you get that clearance and there's really no stretch.

Looks GREAT!!!

Hey we have the Same Tires!... Those Falkens are Really Good....
Also your rear Rotors needs some LOVE!! A Silver Duplicolor High Heat 1200°F Painting to match the Fronts and that would look Killer... IMO dont use ever Caliper Paint it just sucks hard...

You have to take off the bumper...and bunch of bolts. It's in the 2nd gen DIY Section.

If you don't want to go through the hassle. ebay has depot branded headlights for 250 blacked out...

oh hey i forgot about this thread. yeah i tried to get sound clips one day a couple months back but the sound in the video isn't amazing and there is a lot of background noise (lawnmowers, cars driving by, people). ill try again.

also i sold the a-specs and i am listing the spacers up for sale today. i am moving on to a more aggressive setup. i bought the wheels yesterday. just waiting for them to come in. then i gotta buy tires. may need to experiment with different sizes for the rear.

front: 18x9 +38 with 235/40-18
rear: 18x10 +42 with 255/40-18 or 265/35-18

Interested to hear the exhaust - because they look like fart cans. Love the TL ASPECS. I had RSX ASPECS - and was looking around for new TL ASPECS before I fell in love w/ something else.

haha they are fart cans. but they don't fart because i left the resonator and mid-muffler in. i'm thinking of taking the mid-muffler out though. i need more volume. but even though they are knock-offs, they sound similar to the HKS hi-power mufflers.

Stoked to see the new photos. Look great on the A-Specs. I can't imagine how mean it's going to look on the new setup, especially the rears.
