EBC Green Pads on Black Calipers
Just threw on some new rotors today along with some EBC GreenStuff brake pads. I decided to paint the calipers black while I had them off the rotors. I really like the outcome. The lime green hiding under the black looks really cool.
As you can see in the pics, we had some problems with one of the rotors. The impact screwdriver's bit broke off in the screw head. We had to grind the old rotor up just to get the screw out. very fun. im impressed with the performance so far, the brake pads really have some bite to them.

nice, green stuff pads DO NOT suck! they stop amazingly, the do dust alot and make noise
and EBC rotors are FTW, I had Green Stuf and EBC 3GD rotors
I've probably said this already but I literally had my set smoking on the track and they never warped or faded![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
now for that reflector, i dont know about the 02-03 headlights, but I think ours looks nasty when you pull it out, so I suggest tinting them black
or painting them

Everyone that sees my car parked has to touch the tails for some reason, because they look so different. It's funny, but GTFO my car!

I have to disagree. They dont suck (best every day pad ive ever used, and i have used most of them). They hardly throw off any dust once the break in coating/period is done, especially for a pad thats track worthy. You want suck get the Axis ultimate's. They sucked

you have to wear the break in coating off them, which means 500 miles of easy driving. After that bed them in and go to town on them. They wont smell, dusting will drop to very low levels.

Personal preference i guess, personally i experienced major brake dust through the 15k miles the pads lasted me before wearing out. They made noises for 10K of those miles. After those i went to Pepboys and bought some 40 dollar "Pro Stop" pads and i couldnt be hhappier. No noise and extremely low dust ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

Im gonna go with the procedure from the EBC Site...
Bedding in EBC pads
In Street use situations …
Bedding in when the red EBC surface coating (marked on the pads as Brake In) is applied.
Best procedure is to drive gently avoiding harsh braking unless in an emergency for first 100 miles. In the second 100 miles (up to 200) you can use gently increasing brake pressures when using the brakes.
Only after 200 miles urban driving (not 200 miles on a freeway where brakes are almost unused) should you attempt to apply heavy load and heat to the brakes. To do this final bedding on a QUIET ROAD in safe traffic apply the brakes and slow from 60 to 10 MPH five times in a row. Then drive slowly for a few minutes if safe to do so to allow the brakes to cool. Try to avoid coming to a rest whilst the brakes are heated.
A smell may be noticed from the warm brakes, this is normal. Repeat this procedure a second time after the brakes have TOTALLY cooled down. EBC pads get better with miles. Even after this bed in procedure it can take up to 1500 miles before the pads are at their best. In the meantime the pads will be good and safe but true potential not realised. EBC makes performance pads that last, they do not bed in within 5 minutes driving. Noises will be more likely during the first 1000-1500 miles use whilst this chemical bedding takes place.
NEVER attempt to sand or scotchbrite brake pads to assist it bedding in or noise reduction, this will only make things worse by taking the pads "Off-Flat" and require hundreds of miles driving to seat them again during which time the brakes will feel very dull. The only way to seat pads is against the rotor they will be used on and by following our bedding recommendation.
