Color matched headlights AM w/ a Twist

Sup fellow TLers, it's been a while since I have posted anything on here. Master degree programs have a way of taking away all free time. Anyway, since I'm home for summer, I decided to tackle a project I've been contemplating doing for a little bit of time now.

I color matched my headlights to my AM TL-S. It's not a perfect match, but its close enough for me and I am happy with the overall completed look. My "twist" was instead of just coloring the entire headlight, I wanted to leave certain areas chrome. My desire was to have a chrome "trim" around the light as well as the circle around the highbeam area. It turned out much better than I expected and I think by leaving a few areas chrome, it didn't darken my front too much which was a slight concern. Enough talking, on to the pictures!! Let me know what you think.

with the orange reflector

you can see in this pic what i mean about have the chrome trim areas.

This is the picture installed. As you can see, I removed the orange reflector. My first instinct was to leave it in, I should have stuck with that. lol. So I'll be ripping them open again to slap them back in there.

Final head on shot. Gives it a much meaner look. Overall, I'm happy! Well worth the hours I spent doing this!

My next mod is a modified roof spoiler for a 6th gen (98-02) accord. It will be coming in this week, so I will let you guys know how that turns out and post pics when I'm done.

wow, that came out amazing. works so well with the grille.

i was not interested in doing this myself because it usually looks too dark. i also have an AM, if i do decide to do this, this is the only way to go!

Nice looks like you did a "Masters Degree" job on them. I wanted to do the chrome halo around the highbeams as well, but I did not have enough time and patient. I will be working on another set of headlights and fogs soon.

Thanks man, the masking was the most time consuming part of the project and I still didnt do a "show" quality job with it, but its good enough for me.

Now that I don't have reflectors on the side, anybody know of some nice white bulbs I can stick over there? And now I have more of an incentive to go HID in the fogs, either stick with stock color or go yellow.

Sorry for threadjacking but for the parking lights you were talking about, I replaced the nasty yellow bulb with the TeXoN 168/194 bulbs, they are a little pricey ($20) but I think they look good, here are some pics:

Yea, thats exactly what I'm talking about. The yellow bulbs in there now are terrible. I already have chrome bulbs in the turn signal area. Thanx for the suggestion.

And thanx for the compliments! I'll be leaving the reflector out.
