2nd gen TL-S with 3rd gen badge + nightshot

I was sick of the story on the back of my car. A emblem, plus A C U R A, then 3.2TL-Type S. And my plate frame says ACURA. So I shaved most of it, and went with the 3rd gen TL badge, kept the A, and the frame. My camera sucks but it will have to do for now.

Looks good. I modified the stock emblem by cutting off "3.2" . It sounds insignificant, but it looks a lot better reading "TL-S". lol

At first thats what I did, but I broke off a piece of the TL part, and said screw it. I havent seen this yet, so it's nice to be a lil different. I was thinking of the 07 Type S badge but it looks a lil weird to me.

I'm not sure either actually. I like it, but I do feel there should be an S. I'll pick up the 3rd gen Type S emblem as well. I'll have to get a new TL emblem cuz it's too close. I'll keep you updated.

^^^^^^ Yes, that does look better. I never saw it on the car, so I THOUGHT it would look bad, but that looks really good actually. Very nice.

i thought about going with a 3rd gen "TL" badge but when i first got my car, but i felt it looked too big and out of place, so i just left the "A" on the back, and got a 3rd gen "TL" plate frame....

Do a search for the whole thread, but basically you just use floss or fishing line behind the letters after heating the adhesive up with heat gun, hair dryer, or warm water. Use goof of to get the rest of adhesive off, then buff/clay to get the "ghosting" away.

To the OP: not really feeling the way this looks with just the TL off to the side. Props for trying something different, but it doesn't seem to flow with the back of the car with just the TL over there. It does look better with the Type-S badge, though. This is just my .

Thanks for all the opinions here. It seems that most don't agree with it. Some days I like it there, and some days I feel it looks out of place as well. I'm not sure if I'm going to just leave it, take it off, or put JUST the new Type S badge on. Thanks again guys.

Dental floss followed by WD40 + elbow grease to get the adhesive off.

Not really feeling the look of the larger "TL" logo. You should have kept it original....... Are those Tips on the exhaust?

^^^^^^ Yes, they are the 3A tips.

I used 3M remover and fishing string for the tape with a microfiber, followed by a clay bar, cleaner, polish, then wax.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as a lot of the posters here. It really looks outta place IMO. I prefer the original badge because it fits right. But if debadging is your thing, I'd recommend going badgeless. The 2nd gen Type-S badge is too hot to drop.
