111,111.1 Miles

I spent about a week preparing to be absolutely certain to hit the Trip B reset at the right time, then had to wait a week during a trip to California to see it. It turned over on the way home from the airport, and I came within about two seconds of missing it at 45mph.

It would be more awesome if the speedo is at 11 mph (or 111 mph), and the temperature gauge is at 111 F (out in Death Valley or something).

I kid, I kid... This thing is already awesome

On his chassis, probably more than that. Maybe it's at the 333,333 mark .

If you didn't know, he swapped his old engine out to a type s one along with a CL-S manual tranny.

This is very encouraging to me that my TL will last a good long time if I continue to baby it as much as possible, especially since I'm now doing about 2,000 miles a month commuting.

Haha! Good one! I live in New Hampshire, so I don't have to!

But seriously, I always wear my seatbelt - note the speedo at zero. I had pulled off on a side street for the photo. I cut it quite close - I made the U-turn and before I reached the intersection, Trip B had gone to 111.2.

I guess the next trick is going to be:

.....789.0
123456

Let's see, I'm almost to 112,000 now, so that'd be another five to six months, or maybe a bit less if we drive the TL to Michigan and back this December. Reset trip B at 122667 and change, if I'm calculating correctly.

I was thinking about 123,456 too. If you want that 789 on the trip, just take 123,456-789.

Here we go - 123,456 miles with 789.1 miles on the trip meter. I have a photo of 789.0 miles, but my hand shifted during the exposure (considering that I was going 60mph at night in rush-hour traffic, not much) so I need to figure out how to fix that in GIMP before it can be uploaded.
