Why do people change Acura emblems to Honda?

I have a 2001 TL, and I de-badged my entire trunk, no emblems at all. I also changed my tail lights to the 2002/2003 look and smoked the red part, leaving the white part alone, and it looks real nice. as im looking through some threads i noticed a lot of people changed it so instead of saying Acura, it says Honda. Why? whats the significance?

Look in the bottom left corner of your driver side window. It will say Honda, our cars are in Japan as the Honda Saber. The parts that go in our cars are made by Honda. At the end of the day Acuras are Hondas. They changed the name from Honda to Acura in North America so they can boost the price and have a more "luxury" market.

In Japan there is no Acura or Infiniti, its only Hondas and Nissans.

The UA4/UA5 TL (1999-2003) has equivalents under the Honda badging, whereas there is no Honda-badged equivalent of the UA6/UA7 TL (2004-2008).

Making the Acura TL into a Honda Inspire/Saber is the same thing as making the Acura Integra into a Honda Integra, and Acura NSX into a Honda NSX. It's a trend in the United States to make their Acura TL into their counterparts sold in Japan, vice versa (People in Japan make their Honda Inspire/Saber into Acura TL's).

The trend is popular for cars which have a JDM counterpart. If you put a Honda badge on a UA6/UA7 TL... that's just ricer, because there is no JDM counterpart with a Honda badge.

Also we (Acura Honda) arent the only ones who change our badges, some Infiniti dudes switch to the JDM Nissan Version, Dudes with Lexus's slapp on JDM Toyota badges as well.

The JDM game is deep, its really how far your willing to go.....

I don't know about Ohio, but west coast/east cost, these kinds of conversions are very popular. The most common Lexus to Toyota conversion is the IS300 to Altezza, then GS300/GS430 to Aristo, LS400/LS430 to Celsior, SC300/SC430 to Soarer, ES300 to Windom, RX300 to Harrier, LX to Land Cruiser Amazon/Cygnus (which I have not seen), GX to Land Cruiser Prado (which I have not seen either).

They sell Lexus in Japan now so the new generation Lexus don't have names under Toyota. (i.e. LS460/LS600hL are still LS460/LS600hL in Japan under the Lexus badging).

^ dont forget the IS-F too.. when i moved here it was weird seeing the Lexus, Nissan and Infinity cars

club lexus here in florida is mostly SC's converted to Soarers, GS converted to Aristo's and IS300's converted to Altezza's.... so many 2J's on boost down here that its not even funny.. dont get me wrong, it looks sick as hell when they do a meet

Nico is mostly G35's converted to skyline and the nissan primera conversions

How does putting a H emblem on your car make you smart. If you want a Honda go to the honda dealer and buy a damn honda. Its only "the shit" when its something YOU like. It doesnt mean others have to share your opinion.

And trust me, people were converting their cars to the Inspire/Saber 8 years before you came to this forum so dont act like you were the only one.

if u want cooled leather u gotta atleast step it up to a bmw 750il or an infinity M45, or make a mod with co2 or something for our cars, u could route a plastic tube filled with water or that stuff they put in cold packs and lead it the center console to conduct the ac from there

Or if i was truly serious about cooled seats i could buy a Genesis sedan with tech package which is about 40k cheaper than the BMW and every bit as good of a car and have cooled seats.
