Where can I buy this Front lip kit? (I'm new at this)

Hi guys, I just picked up my 2nd generation TL today and I was looking around and can't find where I can buy this front lip kit. Help me please!

Welcome Tchainzzz !!!!

With the age of our 2nd Gen TL's, especially the earlier '99>'01 models,.... front lips are getting really hard to locate. The choices are very limited in aftermarket parts availability. Sometimes the "Black Market" sub-forum for sale of used parts will have one, but they go quickly. Try posting a WTB in the "BM". Anyways....good luck with the TL and there's a ton of info on this site to help you with the car.

I thought they were the factory lip kit, can I just buy it from the Acura parts?

I'm unsure if that particular kit was a factory OEM lip kit. But even if it was, Acura's inventory of over 10 year old limited production parts is very difficult to find.

But, one way of finding out, would be trying your local Acura dealership to see if they could special order the OEM kit. Try some of the online specialty Acura stores. Ya never know until ya try !!!!

Honda Parts Unlimited appears to have them in stock:

http://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/p...-bumper/bumper

Part #3 in the illustration.

These are already painted, too. I would pick one up myself but $350.00 for a Nighthawk Black Pearl + shipping is too much for me to handle right now, especially for something cosmetic.

I bought my '01 TL-P from a dealer auction and it came with the OEM kit/rear lid spoiler attached but the front lip is missing. It didn't bother me at first but the more I look at it the more I don't like it. It makes the front bumper look higher than the rest of the car. But alas, I can't afford to replace it, especially after getting a V6 Accord transmission for it, so I'll probably take the rest of the kit off until I've saved enough to get the front lip. Or I might just leave it all off for good.

that is just the regular one, if you order it you will get what you already have. You should search the black market because that kit has been discontinued but a few pop up now and then

Yes I noticed that it was the regular one after looking more closely. The kit is actually listed on that site under "Accessories." It is listed as discontinued but the funny thing is that the front lip is cheaper than the standard part it replaces.

Try to get the OEM original kit. It's really hard to come by, but it is worth the wait and money for the better fit and durability features. Ya gotta be persistent and don't procrastinate once ya find one.....cause they sell quickly !!!

Ah. They fooled me with the FRP crap. FRP = fiberglass.

FRP = "Fiber Reinforced Plastic"
Way better than full Fiberglass piece anyway..

I would get Side + Rear lip FRP but leave the important front lip OEM..

I did some research on that. It's actually straight fiberglass. FRP is it's original, full name. Cute, eh?

What I was wondering is if you could get a urethane resin kit and copy the front lip. No it won't be cheap, but if you want it so survive, you need to have urethane (aka poluyrethane).

FRP is the original more expensive way to build a Fiberglass piece.. THEN there was a Cheapo-o-process even more.... Cheap? of doing Fiberglass pieces..

In any case both aren't Urethane Plastic that is used on the OEM Pieces.
The only real part that can break is the Front lip by scraping on the pavement or speed bumps.. THUS nobody would recommend you a FRP piece over the OEM Front Lip Kit and its more easily damaged on Lowered TLs..

Side-skirts and rear lip they both on "safe" side of the car so you can get away with using FRP pieces instead of the more expensive OEM Plastic ones.. Your choice = Your money.

Yup. my TL is lowered 3.5 inches in the front so the front lip takes a beating. the urethane is ridiculously strong. I found my lip kit on craigslist in perfect condition except the front lip. it was already petty beat up. hence my relative lack of concern for it. You just have to keep searching, one will pop up, and you have to jump on it.
