Throttle Body

I have an 03 CL-S 6-speed with the 3.7 IM. I am running the stock 3.2 TB on the 3.7 IM. What TB is recommended for the 3.7? Something close to 80mm and something that actually works with the car without any problems.

2G TLs were the last to use the Cable throttle.. 3Gs and up all use DBW.

Milwakau already told you.. Blox has the TB for your need..

And yes you need to make your own adapter to fit the TB into the 3.7 Mani...

Well, looks like I'll be ordering it. I need it by next Saturday....getting it dyno'd. I cant imagine it being that hard to make an adapter plate. I probably need to order the P2R B series bracket as well. Looks like with this mod it equals 1 hp to every $100 you spend...

You need the p2r adapter and a blox B series adapter and a blox B series 80mm TB and it works.

Ok, so I got the adapter that bolts the BLOX 76mm TB to the 3.7 IM that P2R made for me. No complaints except that the TB is about 30 degrees turned when bolted on the adapter. But it actually looks good like that. I'll be posting pics soon. But I do have a problem now....SOMETIMES not always, when floored it cuts out at about 5700 rpms. I have no idea what this could be. I obviously got a CEL so ill be going to AUTOZONE to get a OBD II scanner tomorrow and see what it is. But let me tell you, when it runs normal it pulls really hard! I just need to fix the little issues first ...

Does the TB actually line up perfectly with the hole in the adapter?

The adapter lines up perfectly with the IM....its about 1mm off with the TB which really isn't bad at all. P2R said that is the closest he can get it to line up with a 76mm TB. That is why he recommended a 74mm instead, but 1mm doesn't bother me.

I'll post the gap up soon....its very little. But for now can anyone help me out here on a question. Car drives fine for hours without CEL on then all of a sudden the CEL comes on with a P0505 code and the car jumps from idle to 1500 rpms every time I touch the gas pedal. But once I reset it its gone until hours later again...

You need to have one hose hooked up before the throttle body plate and one after. It look like you have one hooked before the throttle body plate but not one after.

It needs to be hooked up properly, Make sure there are no vacuum leaks from it. Is your TPS adjusted properly? If off by just a fraction it can cause it to run bad too.

The tps from factory oem should be 0.465 closed and 4.65 volts WOT. I couldnt get it exact and it was 5.08 @ WOT and it would cut out when floored around 5800 rpms. So then the LOWEST i could set it at WOT was @ 4.85 which hits redline every time now running great...until hours after driving it throws that po505 code that the iacv is malfunctioning

Good to know that P2R is making there adapter better. Sounds like you need to get the TPS set correctly and the IAC hooked up proper. Looks nice, did you do a dyno run before to compare to?

OK OK so I also bought a blox b series 74mm TB and I'm looking for the proper way to install this mod. I know u need a vacuum hose before and after the throttle plate because this throttle body doesn't have the holes at the bottom as the stock one does for the IAC ...someone take a picture of the proper adapter because that's not it..

Try this, it gives you the plate to hook up your IAC and the braket so you can use your cruse control.

Ok I understand the iacv part now but what did you do with bottom sensor?
Did you bypass it or did you just leave off?

The bottom sensor is the IACV. That gets attached to the blockoff plate that the 2 hoses get connected to

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but is anyone with the B-series TB mod experiencing trouble with idle after a cold start, or does everything work fine?
BTW, 2ndgentl, why didn't you hook up the "after" hose from the IACV to this fitting right after the TB? That's how it's done in my car.

Honestly I would also love to know all about an Intake manifold swap on 2G TL-P with the 3.5L or 3.7L Intake manifolds just to free up even more power for my car :o

Here is a better pic of that hose and where I have it hooked up. Also, yes, mine surges slightly on a cold start until the temp gauge moves (about 2 min).

Well, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one with idle issues after doing this mod. Though the low idle at warmup is slowly driving me insane, I've tried everything I could think of to fix the issue. I was hoping it would be down to me disconnecting the evap canister, but after hooking it back up nothing changed. I'm guessing the canister might've gone bad while it was disconnected (and plugged).
