yes you will have to switch out the haness, or just figure out how to make it work by rewiring it, but the side airbag wont work, unless you get the srs control mudule and harness for the 02-03 then youllhave to switch out your front airbags because the 99 is single stage as the 02-03 is a two stage airbag. Or you can just leave it and not have the side airbag like me.

Seats are different. perforated leather, firmer, different bolsters.

I know its possible. Someone did it already, SRS should be the same, but the seat harness is different. Someone also put in CL-S seats

He cut the shifter height down. The only short throw doesnt make the shifter height shorter.

that's right, thanks kris.....

I know that the seat wiring harness id differefnt for almost every year. the 99 only has like a 8 pin connector and the 02 has a blue 15 pin connector and the 03 has 18 pin connector. the 99 didn't come with side air bags, so we won't be able to use that function of the seat. but hell, anything is possible. like kris said we put 6 speeds in, a seat is childs play.

by the way kris...... still waiting on those notes from the wiring you did....lol....whenever you get a chance.

I love the look of a shorter shifter. I didn't do a 6speed conversion, but what would I have to do to cut down the shifter. I plan on doing a 6speed conv in the near future though.....

You have 2 options. Cut yours shorter and rethread it or cut yours shorter and reweld the threaded part back on. Option 1 is easier.

when I had the auto I cut it down and didnt have to rethread it or reweld it . I just cut about an inch off, but made sure that i was still able to get down into first with gate shifting...

Oh Shart.. I forgot about that.

Yea, With the auto you can just cut off a 1/2-1" or so. The threads go down pretty far. You cant cut too much off or when in shifted down to1st the shift knob will hit the shift gate.

On the seats some of those pins must relate to the memory seat. I have to check what the 2000 has and I can post the pins for that model. I am sure its close to the 99 but the extra would be the side airbags. Did the first years of the CLS have memory seats?
