I have stop tech cross drilled and slotted rotors from the black market. I paid 145$ shipped and have had them on the car for 20,000 miles. Best brakes I have ever had and the only ones I have not been able to warp. I had a couple of problems and they took care of it for me.

Rotors slotted (from our vendor Excelerate) almost 200k miles on them, ebc green and red pads. Yes I would buy them again.

Drilled rotors are more prone to cracking in motorsports conditions. Drilled rotors have the most bite followed by drilled/slotted, then slotted. On a street driven car, the appearance of the parts will have more of an impact than the performance difference as most drivers would not be able to feel a difference between the 3 options. All with have better bite than stock. Any track vehicle should use slotted only as that will be the most crack resistant.
Drilling and slotting is more about increasing bite than cooling. Some can argue that the added surface area can improve cooling as can turbulence, but it is marginal at best. Then again the weight reduction is also marginal so both arguments are somewhat moot.
