Question about Magnaflow (or other) custom piping
I just installed Comptech axlebacks on my 2000 TL-P (you can check my thread in the photograph section for pics). My piping is very rusted after 6-7 years. How much do you think it would cost to get custom catback piping? Can they make a custom pipe that will fit my Comptechs, or do they only make custom piping for their own exhausts? What about any other companies? Thanks.

Most exhaust shops can redo teh exhaust to work just fine. But looking at the pics you have most of that is just light surface discoloration and mild rust. I would say there is nothing wrong with it (as mine is similar and i have 200k miles on my stock piping) I would spend a little time under the car with some elbow grease and clean it up and get some black BBQ paint or Heat paint and spray it black (as many other have in the past) to clean the look up

I also kind of wanted new piping because the stock piping is .5-1 inch smaller than the exhaust pipe...I know it won't really do much in terms of freeing up the air flow. Can anyone give me an estimated price of this work?

its only 1/4 inch smaller. 2 inch as opposed to 2 1/4
To have it done in a shop i would guess somewhere around 100-250 depending on pipe and type of bends they put in it.

Go with a 2.25-2.5 inch diameter. you can even do 2.5 inch to a 2.25 Y to the mufflers. My final setup was 2.5 inch piping from the cat to a 12 inch magnaflow resonator to a Magnaflow Y to the Magnaflow mufflers. Sounded like 350z but louder and more agressive, same tone though.
