how and whats the cost is all up to you.
get some quotes from shops.
unless you're doing this yourself.
junk yards have all the parts you need and the prices are dependent on your area and your willingness to haggle for parts.
there is a lot of info on this site, take the time to read and absorb.
I guarantee you'll have a better understanding if you read through some of the past swaps done on here.

LMFAO, but so true though
as far as OP, you are looking at $3500 plus for the manual swap, mine was in the $4500 range (with a discount on parts too), but i did get the clutchmasters stage 3 clutch though (which in all reality is not that much more then stock, because you would have to buy the stock clutch and flywheel anyways)

a rebuilt transmission from Acura is like $3,000 list (plus labor to remove and reinstall it, be it the dealer or independent shop), so personally i don't think that place is adding in any parts, and that it is the price to pull the transmission and just INSPECT it, nothing more
also i know here, with a rebuilt transmission from acura, you get a 3 year 36000 mile warranty on it (so can they possibly match that?), so kinda hard to beat that

btw: all my prices are in US $

and alot of times, it would be better to go to a shop that is more upfront with all the costs, and tries to minimize all unexpected costs upfront (there are times that you cannot help it though)
and there are places that will bait and switch you, they give you a dirt cheap price to get you in the door, then once the car is disassembled, tell you that you need additional parts; which can easily put you into the price range of the more expensive shops, that where true from the start (remember there are some parts that are going to be pretty standard practice to replace, if it is opened up, like seals
and here is another good indication of a shop sometimes (not always though), is the shop itself clean and well lit (cleanliness is god especially when rebuilding transmissions, especially when you consider a speck of dirt could ruin a transmission if it gets in the wrong place; a valve mainly, and causing it to stick part way)
and JDM parts

and i am 99% percent sure that the factory rebuilt includes a new/rebuilt torque convertor too (it likes to collect all the rest of the crap from the transmission, and really the only way to clean it out, is to cut it open, and remove everything out of it to clean separate, put it all back together, and then reweld it shut)(and don't forget there is also a clutch in there, to lock up the torque convetor under cruise conditions for better gas mileage; and what happens if that is also worn
![Shrug](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif)
basically only thing you have to add in to that price is the labor to remove and install the transmission now (plus fluid too)

also as a side note, you should get your car back faster from whoever puts in the transmission for you, cause i know the dealer here actually carries a transmission in stock (kinda
actually)
so really you could have your car back in 2 days, first day is pulling it out (and the dealer delivers it as it's being pulled, or if you make an appointment, they could even pre-deliver it to the shop), and transfer parts over (only a couple though, then the second is putting it back in, filling it, then test driving it)(and depending on what time you drop it off, and how long the shop is open, you could even potentually have it back the same day, but not likely though)

go for it- be prepared for additional cost- ask the guy about that - certain parts they might run into needing after inspection that are not in the estimate
Since he does many TL trans he can look up invoices or knows off the top of his head
what the real total is for a deluxe job,,not the band aid job
Do have him replace the `rear main seal on the engine`, remove flywheel and replace seal is 30 minutes labor and good safety precaution--
sucks to have it leak 6 months from now and you have to pay to remove the trans to access a 10 dollar part
just plan on an extra 500
the side motor mount labor is not affected by trans in or out, 30 minutes,
easiest with timing belt job~
the front mount is a few minutes install as said--get a real acura one from one of our sponsoring dealers- see Vendor list next to log out box
while the rear doesnt fail very often- fries makes as good point of access, spend 150 for the part now and drive without concern of future expense
