painting interior trim

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with how to take off the wood grain trim on my tl. I dont want to break them so if anyone could tell me the best way to do it that would be great. After that i want to paint them silver so anyone who has done this what kind of paint do i use? And show me your pictures. Thanks

the door stuff is tricky. you have to take off the door panels melt acouple plastic rivets off and remove acouple screws. the center console stuff is easy. Just open the center console lift up on the end and as you lift it up you will have to pull towards the rear of the car a little.

scuff them up with 180-220 primer and then paint color of your choice (most use body color

So you used like PPG or somthing and yours looks like you used a clear coat. Looks good man. Thanks for the info

thats not mine, but i did paint it for him. yes its a basecoat clear coat. i used lessonal. any brand will work.

go to your local Auto Paints store (not a parts store like auto zone) and they (most) will mix it up in a spray can for you if you dont have the spray guns (i do) to paint it. some even have disposable sprayers (glass container with a compressed o2 tank to pressureize so you can continue to spray so you can spray the paint with out having to shake a can.

I would love to see pics of "updated"/"customized" interiors that didnt cost over 5,000$ to do. get some ideas com'on peeps lets see em i know there out there.

what would be a good color to match the oem trim? i got the other trim kit off ebay looks good, but wanna paint over the gauge bezel, nice job on it tho, mint.
