Which one is the midmuffler and exhaust resonator?
Sorry, noob here. I've been reading around and I heard that the midmuffler is the one closest to the rear (the big can) , and the exhaust resonator is in the middle (smaller can)? i have no idea.. planning to get the midmuffler removal done soon and possibly the exhaust resonator.. just needa know which is which before proceeding.
Here's a pic to help you guys out.. I got this from another thread so I hope the OP doesn't mind.
So if anybody can identify whats #1 and #2, that would be great! Thanks!

number 1 is the mid-muffler and number 2 is the resonator. i actually just got my mid-muffler removed last week. best $60 ive spent in a while. i def recommend removing it. if you take the resonator out too ive heard that there is too much rasp and it could sound a bit ricey. search youtube for sound comparisons.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew that was the case but just wanted to confirm with people who had it done before. Yeah, I heard it does get raspy around 2-3k rpms with the exhaust resonator removed. Some people have the exhaust resonator removed and replaced with an aftermarket resonator such as the Dynomax. That would take away the raspiness from what I've read.

You might want to put into consideration that you have headers, not sure if that will change the sound of it as well. I had my mid-muffler removed and I like it the way it is, I was tempted to remove the smaller resonator and replace it with a Dynomax for a deeper sound.

Working at a shop makes it easier to tell the difference between them than youtube sound clips that suck anyway. i tried removing res first, then mid muff, then replacing the res. It was definitely raspy with the res out and sounds much better with it in place. I am now thinking of removing the tail mufflers to see what that sounds like. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Anyone know of a place in NOVA where I could get a mid muffler delete for cheap

Just removed my mid muffler and replaced stock resonator with an AERO AR25 Resonator and sounds awesome. My boss bought Dynomax mufflers from a shop but didn't like them, I am thinking about getting them from him and having the same shop put them on. The shop tried to have me buy them from them and claimed they gave a tiny more power due to better air flow, is that true?

Here is the video with the current set up, mid muffler delete, AERO AR25 Resonator, and Magnaflow mufflers.

The sound in person is a bit deeper, and when I do a driveby, its even nicer sounding.

By removing the midmuffler only - does this eliminate backpressure ? I am new to the acura scene and trying to get up to speed on how these engines perform. By eliminating the midmuffler - does that decrease the amount of backpressure that ( may be needed ) ?

No, the mid-muffler is straight through and the same diameter as the exhaust leading to and from it.
