Talking OEM Brakes-Improvement options?

Wattup A-Zine fam? Newbe here, lookin for help, advice, opinions, inthusiasts, all that good stuff. Any ideas on improving brake performance? My 2G TL brakes have to be pressed in further than I feel should be necessary to work properly. Anyone else have that issue? Would love to get a big brake performance package in there but $2000+ is a a lot to spend if not necessary nor racing anyone

I'd just Ebay some pads and rotors. They're cheap enough. If you want awesome pedal feel, upgrade to SS braided lines.

I guess steel lines do make a dfference. I plan on getting some, any recommendations? I'm definitely going to look for the legend calipers, any alterations needed? I had no idea legend
Had such upgraded brakes, nice

Thanks. Any other upgrades anyone can think of, I'm all ears. I lowered my ride one inch using TEIN springs & replaced shocks with TOKICO gas shocks. Got TSW rims "Nardo" style 17in. I wanted to go bigger but NY roads really suck so I decided to avoid cracking rims with lower pros. Still, ride is a bit bumpy, any ideas on how to make it smoother? Dampers or something? I replaced all links & bushings which helped big time but if I can make it better, I'm all for it.

Check this out I just did mine and they are perfect now stops better than ever and was easy and cheap. I got the legend calipers for 100$ and the new front and rear rotors + pads for 145$. Check the black market under sponsored sales/group buys for the brakes.

looks nice. What's up with cat-back? Any hook ups? Been meaning to get comp-tech cat back or something known to perform good but wondering if a custom cat-back would be a better move.

The best move would be headers. Exhaust is really just for sound not much to gain from it

hahahaha SEARCH!

My Thread on the Subject:
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-116/2g-tl-caliper-upgrade-question-815355/

Youll need: FRC10627 and FRC10628 parts
Those are 2 Full Calipers w/ Brackets... Dispose the Brackets as they dont fit our Knuckles, Re-Use Sliders, Bolts and Dust Covers...

Amazon is Cheaper:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=FRC10627+FRC10628+&x=0&y=0 http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=FRC10627+FRC10628+&x=0&y=0

Youll need for SS Lines (Goodridge; Part 20082): http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/77A3671A2706025.aspx
BUY "GOODRIDGE"! Those are the Supplied in the BREMBO GT BBK...

Ebay is Cheaper: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...0082+Goodridge

Thats what Ive got...

In a few days I'll have my ss goodridge brake lines and 2 piston calipers. Thanks Skirmich, links helped. Any recomendations for headers and exhaust? Would anyone know if I changing parts for more performance would increase the possibility of failing inspection?

What about cpu upgrade? Anyone do anything with this? I heard chips exist that would save gas and increase power. Ebay has some products but I would rather look into something recommended. How about the tranny? Would I need to upgrade something to support the extra horses from headers, intake and cat-back? I just had it rebuilt a couple weeks ago so I prefer not to go through this again.

Thanks dude. I'll be making an order tonight. Thanks again for the hook up, good looking out. Now I need catback & acura rims. I was thinking of mdx oem wheels, 07 model. Found a guy selling for $500, 18in. Not sure if they'll fit. Anyone have suggestions? After market rims seem to damage/bend easier.

I beleive the mdx has a 5x120 bolt pattern we have a 5x114.3. So they won't mount up without adapters. Check tsx, 3gtl, and Honda accord wheels

Check craigslist and ebay, that is where I got my last two sets of wheels. Both of them were brand new in the box and were pretty cheap

Dude not to ruin your excitement but lately eBay really comes down to the last 30 seconds of the sale. There's always some asshole who waits till then to START their bidding. But good luck I hope u don't run into some jerk like that.

nice dude. You should post up pics if you get a chance. I noticed you have aftermarket performance stabalizer bars, do you feel it makes a difference in ride quality & handle? I recently replaced all bushings & links & thought about getting suspension technique bars but didn't think it would make much of a difference.

Sway Bars doesnt affect Ride..
They basically only work when cornering, Less Body roll! I have the same as Stephen "Eibachs" and they make a world of a Difference against the OEM... But again just when Cornering and Fast.

I'll try to post pictures once I get home it won't let me do it on my phone. The sway bars made a huge difference. The handling is much better, get the front and rear, I can't wait till I get new springs and shocks.
