Keep or sell
I have a 2000 3.2 TL with about 85000 miles. Have started needed some repairs the last few years, injectors and coils and motor mounts, being the big ones. Is this the beginning of the end or just some repairs. I basically have loved the car.
Keep or buy a new ILX.

Coils and motor mounts are just normal common items to go on these cars. Injectors not so sure how normal, but still not a biggie. You have low mileage and if the rest of the car is nice I would just keep driving it. Timng belt been done? How's the trans? New ILX- might at well buy a nice Civic instead and save a few bucks

Injectors are not normal and usually means, you being running it on Regular Gas otherwise Injectors are for Life.
Coils? All Coils are not normal either 1 and perhaps 2 might be .. I have 205,000 Miles on my 6 original coils AND Injectors.
Motor Mounts: Wear Item its normal to replace it when it dies.
"Beginning of the End" Not even close.... Your specific issues are all Personal and not regular or obligatory at all except engine mounts.

Welcome Judynyc !!!
It appears as though you're contemplating a new car. Nothing wrong with that, especially assuming that you're a NYC gal who needs a dependable car.
Your 2000 TL has lot's of life left in it with only 85k on the dial. However, repairs can start to add up on an older car. Things like the timing belt service as previously mentioned are expensive. The routine normal PM stuff will be much less than locking into a new car payment, IMO. Is the car's tranny still shifting good and do ya still enjoy the car ?
If ya have a local trustworthy mechanic, I'd keep the TL awhile longer. But, if ya got the new car fever and are tired of the old TL, it may be time to move on ....... the choice is ultimately yours to make.

IMO I'd keep the car just to avoid a car payment, that being said if you want I new car I highly advise against an ILX. I had a loaner for a week a good car, slow car, but not even close to worth that insane price tag.

Thanks to all
So I have read the response to my post and am thankful to all for replying and the thought put into the replies.
I am keeping my TL for now. I checked on the tranny and 2nd gear recalls and think I am in good shape. The 2nd gear fix was done - in 2003 and i was told by the dealer who sold me the car and had serviced it for owner 1 that I did not need he transmission repair back then - in 2004/05. I bought the car in 2005. Or course I could still need a new transmission.
And I test drove the IlX. I think it is a good looking gar and I was comfortable driving it but it had no oomph-- I have owned a cougar, a celica and integra before this car and I live to be able to move.
Your input was great. I will check this site to keep learning.

2000 TL ......keep or sell ?
Yeah, making a decision to purchase a new car is something ya don't want to rush into. Have your TL checked over for the oncoming winter so it won't have any surprises. In the meantime, look at the site's "ILX" sub-forum along with possibly the all new "TLX".
Ya may wanna consider a used '07>'08 TL or possibly a TSX to save some money over a brand new car. The ILX is basically an "Acura" upgraded Civic. Used ones may be a bargain compared to new, if ya look around.
