Help on TL-s swap

Exclamation Help on TL-s swap

hey guys i need some help/info on this swap situation, i have a 2003 tl-p but i am about to buy a tl-s engine..so far on my searches is that i have to change the harness, ecu, cluster, and something about vsa? what exactly do i have to do because i have traction control

please help me out on this the engine is going to go in next week and i want to be prepared on what a have to do

you might as well swap in a 6speed. it will be well worth it. as far as VSA goes, you wont have it. so take the VSA actuator off of the throttle body if your engine comes with it and just go from there. I'm not sure if your traction control will still work or not. I'm guessing so since you are using same transmission? but the ECU will probably not utilize it

You shouldnt have to do any thing other than bolt it in. You wont have the option of running VSA. You dont have all the VSA control units in the car and you wont need it for the motor to run. You will need a RPM switch or to buy the IMRC control box that goes under the dash for the 2nd stage intake to work properly though.

is it possible for me just to run on the tl-s ecu??
what will work? and what dont if i install it

i recently did the swap ... i used my original harness and removed the flap from inside the intake manifold so i wouldnt need to run the switch for it but i recommend you do it if not you'll have a slight idle problem under 2000rpm but WOT is perfect . ... Using the TL-S ecu on your TL-P engine??

so you used the tl-p harness?
