HELP! dc sports header install

I own a 2003 CLP and the rear motor mount seems to be stopping me from aligning the rear header with its studs. I've read in other posts that one can remove the rear mount to install the header but is there a way to install the header without actually resorting to that?

I am pretty sure from what I have read that you have to remove the rear mount to install them. Hopefully they work out well I am probably going to be ordering the same ones in the next few months.

Yea, you have to temporarily move the rear mount. It may not seem like it will fit, but it will all bolt back in very well.

This reminds me that I have never installed headers while the engine is in the car lol.

It looks like you might get away with removing the studs that affix the header to the rear head. Will give that a try first. Lots of first rate DYI's here on motor mount removal. Will advise on removing the studs only......

No need to remove rear mount

We unscrewed the head studs and the header fit in perfectly. No need to take the motor mount off.

We did not document the process or the finished product yet. It looks sweet though.

Taking the studs off is cake. You just put on a couple of nuts on the stud and take a wrench to it and they come right off. We had it on a lift and had a transmission stand at the ready for the motor mount removal just in case.

You can take the studs odd when you remove the stock manifolds. This is probably the way to go if you are going to jack the car up and use jack stands...

Perhaps during a Nascar event...... I did some research on this ahead of time and some of the posts reveal it took considerably longer.
