Gimme a brake! (lol?)

Installing legend calipers and Goodrich stainless steel brake lines... Finally. Here's some pics of my progress:

Pads and rotors later after I perform a few ABS stops and re-bleed the lines a last time. Thanks for viewing!

Looking good, ...... I'll bet you can't wait to try them out !

As a rough idea, how much more were the Legend dp calipers priced over our stock ones ?
Was this just a "drop in" replacement, besides the ss lines ? ~ Thanks ~

I'm in Wisconsin, rust is inevitable. Instead of painting every summer I just left them. Eventually I'll get a BBK when I can afford it and bigger rims. The rotors are the factory originals w 74,000 miles on them, but I have brand new pads and rotors to install after I perform a few ABS stops to ensure no air bubbles in the system. TLc, you can get the calipers for about 45-50 bucks each on Amazon, the price is not bad at all. Just look a little and you'll find the best price.

Nice Dave, I have the same set up. Works much better than stock. Big brake kit would be real nice, with 19's or 20's, SICK.

Appreciate it! Plan is, when money allows, to go 18"-20" rims w a BBK. Lots of OT in my future, been on 84 hour weeks forever. Looking like a springtime project, soon as weather allows. Either that or 6 speed swap. I'm kinda torn between the two options right now.

The 6 Speed Swap Involves too much Work are you Sure?
I would do the BBK Instead with the money and Get the A-Spec Rear Spoiler and Body Kit...

Looks bad ass great braking mod!! so do you just leave the rear brakes tl calipers or do you change those as well??? either way it should brake alot smoother at least and better. I would GO FOR THE 6 SPEED SWAP!! cause thats just me GO FOR THE 6 SPEED SWAP!! cause thats just me throwing a little brain washing in there you already got a great braking mod for the 6 speed!! I would do it but seems like you already got quite a bit of modds it def bring out every bit of potential, altho I have heard of some full bolt 5 speed auto tl- type s laying some decent numbers I probably just got to research it a little better.

It's a tough decision for me. Pretty much for what the 6 swap would run I could most likely get a BBK, some rims, plus do the accord trans swap when the need arises. I'm debating internally pretty tough because whatever I decide, I'll be trying to gather the parts this winter and do the work spring/summer time.

I was going to do the six speed swap as well but my transmission crapped out before I could get it to nva-av6 because I do not have the time to do it myself. With the money I will have saved I can also do a lot more things to my car. I plan on doing a bbk as well but with rl calipers and 350z rotors with stainless steel lines. You should enjoy the braking for now especially once you get those new pads and rotors on

Worthless? Please its worth its weight in gold to have. Far more reliable than any auto, alot more fun, and faster. Sell the AV6 trans and put that money towards the 6.

Did the pads from the TL fit into the ledgend calipers? I already have slotted rotors and EBC redstuff pads and most likely won't do this mod if the pad won't fit. Stopping is already amazing, but what wrong with making better?

Yes, you use the rotos and pads from the TL.

MilwaukeeDave, are your new calipers Raybestos part number FRC10627 and FRC10628?

Pics on RockAuto.com show color difference after the stock photo. Where did you order them from?

Do the 2G TL brake lines fit the legend calipers? Or is it required to get the legend or goodridge equivalent lines?

Nothing is needed other than the calipers. Everything else is for the TL.

Rotors?

Hey, I have a 2000 Acura TL and I was planning on redoing my braking system and make them completely aftermarket (except the master cylinder and all that). So if I were to get new performance pads, calipers, and rotors, would I need to change the mounting bracket if they are the same size as stock? Also I can't seem to find any rear brake rotors or pads for the rear "top hat" system because they are different sizes. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am just trying to get my head wrapped around what all I need. Thanks!

Everything I added w this project was about 350 maybe a little more. Call or look up Brakemotive. You will get pads an rotors for all 4 corners for around 160. Amazon sells the calipers for 48 dollars each. The stainless lines were from heeltoe or excelerate I forget which but they're about 120. It's all direct replacement for factory. No brackets needed.

do the stainless steel lines at the same time because you have to bleed the lines at the same time. +1 on brakemotive rotors and pads, I've got about 20,000+ miles on mine now and they are still doing great and no warping.
