Fog Lights - refinishing ideas?
So I found a set of PIAA 998 Turbojector foglights that I think are going to be the SHIZZZ on my 2000 TL - great price on a used set, BUT - the glass lens is a bit dinged up and slightly chipped due to the privious drivers use... Im not huge on the idea of starting with dings in my glass on a soon to be fresh hot front end of my car...
Does anyone have any ideas on how I might go about resurfacing the lens' ? New ones cost $100 each from PIAA........ Lame! Can I sand in progression from low grit to high high grit sand paper or does someone do that kind of thing as a job - Any thing would help here -
Thanks~
This is what they look like - dont have pics of the damage to show, didnt have my camera on hand to snap off when I went to see them...

you can sand it down, but youll need very fine grit, something like 1500-2000
personally i dont think its that bad, maybe cuz u look at it upclose, but when it is down by the bumper. its hard to spot flaws
btw, will you be at the san diego beach meet? we can check it out there

so should I nab up a DA or an Orbital Sander and go stock up on some varying sanding disks? I think I could pull it off by hand but would have to cross the fingers that I didnt F it up...

If they are glass i dont think i would touch them with sandpaper. If you were to try i wouldnt do it with a DA. I would only hand sand it. Back when i had piaas similar to that i found a set of lenses like that for 85 for the pair. (dont as where cause that was 7 years or so ago)
