I was trying to pick out an exhaust. Personally, I think the comptech looks a bit too much like stock, and the tanabe and apexi dont quite look aggressive (if anyone who has them on their TL would like to take pictures, i'd really appreciate it). I was wondering if it would be possible to go with Alphawerks. I've seen them on Accords and CLs but they dont make a kit for the TL. So do you think I could get one custom made from a reputable shop?

Have you actually seen a TL with the CompTechs installed? They look nothing like stock. Stock looks like 2 straws sticking out the back.

$600 for the CompTech vs $540 for the Apexi is 'much cheaper'?

The CompTech and the Apexi look the same.

$540 for the Apexi is the Catback system. $600 for the Comptech is only the axleback. $1,000 for the Comptech's Catback system. Alsmost $500 buck cheaper!

Comptech makes the most gains? I haven't seen any dynos supporting this. Axelback exhausts aren't really going to give you much HP gains anyway.

If I could do it again, I would've gotten the Apexi Catback.. for ~$500, it's a steal! CT doesn't make a catback for the TL-P anyway.

That's because the other manufacturers don't publish dyno graphs like CompTech does. Odds are, people say this because 'a number' beats 'no number' every time.

Having said that, upgrading an exhaust system is primarily about 2 things; Looks and Sound. The cheapest way to accomplish that is by cutting out the resonators and adding new exhaust tips. The most expensive way is to install a cat back system. Axlebacks are in the middle.

I still can't agree with comparing something to nothing.

But you're right: exhaust is for looks+sound, esp if it's just the mufflers.
