did i just get lucky at the junkyard

so a few weeks i pick up this nice 03 tl for 700 dollars with a blown engine , and a brand new reman trans from acura dealer

so today i head out tho the junkyard looking for a regular 3.2 (crazy rays ) and i came accros this j32a2 laying on the floor , ( someone pulled the trans and left the motor sitting on the floor , was a 01 cl type s with 118k per oil sticker on window so i procedure to make my research on my cell and i ended up taking it home along with the key, ignition cylinder , ecu and immobilizer (according to my research i need this for a plug and play type s swap )

now i should have ask this before i bought the ecu , but does the 01 cl type s ecu plugs in to the 03 tl 3.2 ?

NOOOO dude. The CL ECU is for a 2 door car. The only reason to use a CL ECU is for the 6 speed swap.

It's not worth the entire rewiring to get that working.

I would swap in the J32A2 engine with your stock ECU for now. The car won't use the max capabilities of the Type S engine, but it will run fine.

Start looking for a 02-03 TL-S ECU (they're cheap), and swap that in. Get the keys recut or reprogrammed, and you're good to go.

You use the CL-S M/T ECU only for a Manual Swap.
Get a TL Type-S AUTO ECU to get that thing working Plug-and-Play.

Your '03 TL looks relatively clean ......a good buy at $700 !
Take your time everything will work out for ya. This may be a golden opportunity to find a CLS 6 speed tranny and do the whole 9 yard conversion. Ya probably could sell the "reman" AT tranny to help offset the price of the 6 speed. Just something to chew on !!!

Nice find and great price on the TL!
I keep itching to do headers, intake, and cam pulley, but then I gotta remind myself I have a '00
And I need to get the Chevelle in tip top shape first anyways, that's my real toy lol.

well i got the engine in there today , i ran into a few issues with the throttle body coolant lines , apparently aamco installed a aftermarket trans cooler and they plug a few coolant lines that comes from the water neck
anyways the motor is in, took me 6 hours to install as i left the tranny and axles in place and only took the longblock out

my question is does any one know what i have to do to get the coolant lines straight , any diagram ?

Search for throttle body coolant bypass, should be very simple.

Just because you have a tl-p doesn't mean anything there is only a 35 hp difference. Do the things you listed and you will be as fast or faster than a type s. Also its a crank pulley not a cam pulley

Flying EK did you use that ECU that ends in 325. If you did not use how do we get to the Black Market forums?
