thanks - ill be doing that 2maro

i tried getting it out without taking the bumper off - its impossible because the blot closest to the front of the car is impossible to get a wrench in there.

2003 TL-p short ram with the stupid resonator still sitting in there - blocking all my cold air. ill prob build a box around the short ram or make a ram air .

Open the air box (the part with the filter) you will see a small hole that all the air comes thru. By cutting the bottom of the box i mean exactly that. Remove the whole bottom of the box.

Don't know yet...haven't fully put the car back together yet. I got that bolt out last night and just went to sleep right after. After that plastic horn-shaped thing on the resonator didn't come off with a couple pulls I said screw it & went to sleep.

I ran up to AutoZone to grab the K&N filter but they have to order it so hopefully my Fram can hold up. And something tells me that the hole that the plastic horn-shaped thing stuck out of is gonna cause me some humming since it's just an open area....not to mention my air box is probably leaking as it is.

I really just took off the resonator cause I dropped a drill bit in it and didn't want it to be sucked up, slicing through my filter and then entering the engine.

I like the sound. Not too over-the-top and just the right balance for someone like me who wants a quiet car that's got some decent power behind it.

Didn't listen that closely but from inside the cabin, my idle sounds the same.

when you pulled those clips off how did you do it?

I went to do it and it seemed as if I was going to break them everytime I pulled on them..

Any help?

just so you all know, you dont need to take off the bumper. i did it easily and all i had to do was fold down the black plastic cover under the side where the box is.

i posted a few pics on here when i did it... ill look for them.

Aren't there going to be issues with water splashing up into the intake? or will the filter take care of most of it...?

I live in michigan. I've got to think about these things. Don't hate.

Just did this today... first mod! There are a few clips that are on the thin black plastic layer that is above the radiator. Only take the ones off that connect to the frame. Then there are two more after that underneath said plastic piece. I believe that's what you were referencing. Don't forget about the fog light connectors too!

Makes it sorta like a cold air intake, sorta. Also the car sounds a lot meaner at WOT.
