Changing the HID Bulb..
Just bought a different set of HID bulbs to go along with my stock ballast, what's the easiest and fastest way to change the lights?

Easy job tops 30 minutes....
For the Driver Side removing the Battery should be the Easy route, If you feel the need for even more room then remove the Filter Box < Super Easiest Way = More Time.
For the Passenger Side removing the Windshield Liquid Washer fill tube with a single 10mm socket should leave enough room.
Passenger Side is the easiest to replace!

If you look in the DIY thread there are instructions and pics. The car it was done on has a CAI and doesnt have the factory airfilter box in place. Its very easy and there is no need to remove the bumper or headlights to do this.

Most older cars with HIDs didnt come out with Projectors Instead they used a Modified Reflector Headlight to use the HID bulbs!
To use Projectors you will need to do a retrofit.

The TL HAS hid's. The inner lightbulb is high beams. They are standard halogens. The one next to it is the low beam. That is HID. What you posted is a picture of a headlight with a Projector head light. In order to have a projector you have to retrofit one in.

Just curious....are there any aftermarket projector headlights that are a standard fit for the TL?

do the job once and do it right the first time. i always take my front bumper off everytime i deal with the headlights. it takes longer but it ensures that you have the bulb put in and secured correctly. doing it from the back of the headlight is like doing a half ass job because half the time you can't even see what you're doing.

No need To, You can tell by touch that the HID Bulb is Secured in Place.. If it Giggles (Loose) If it Stays Tight (Secured).
Really Easy IMO.

8k would be a down grade, not an upgrade. If the ballasts are still working there would be no reason to change them.

Hid.....?
Hey AcraAdi93, anything over 6K is useless,IMO. 5K is the best choice if you're looking for a bright white lamp.
But, if ya wanna do blue, that's up to U.
If the ballasts are showing signs of rust.....check for moisture, as it will eventually cause issues with the components and connections. It may be a good time to consider upgrading to the newer water-resistant units available from our vendors.

The ballasts probably haven't been replaced in ages. My TL-S was bought off a woman in her mid 30s so knowing that she has no clue about lightning. Im tired of 5k that's stock on our cars. It looks too white. 6k is something I would get

White is what helps you see, Not shades of Blue. And unless they dont work there really isnt a need to replace the ballasts.

Is it possible that by altering the original headlamps with the"blacked out" mod, in turn caused you to "barely" be able to see with the stock HID's ?
For the most part, our OEM stock headlamps were top notch lighting back in the day they rolled off the assembly line. The newer LED's seem to be the trend now, but I'm unsure if they offer any advantage over the HID system which Acura put on our TL's.
As Fsttyms1 previously stated, ya could end seeing even worse !!!!!
