So my car is really tempting me to run it off a cliff, this last week i have been getting the CEL right after i replaced the cam shaft sensor. So my mechanic checked the code and said its the cat. Now i am stuck, i honestly dnt have the money for an oem, i may consider an after market, or even a High flow. My main question is: should i just do a strait pipe and stick the 02 sensor? will that solve the problem? and will i pass emissions in the futur.
not really looking for any gains as long as there is no losses,
and do other model cat. fit our cars, like mdx, or 4th gen tls, rls.?
thnks for u r help

AND YES! i did search but was out of luck.

why dont you go to autozone and get the code read yourself. i dont see why you would ever have to replace the camshaft sensor. your mechanic may be ripping you off. i got cat codes when my egr was close, any good mechanic would know to clean the egr before replacing any parts.

nah the cel came after the cam shaft sensor was replaced. and no my mechanic is not ripping me off he s good family friend so i trust him. the CEL came after the the car started running again. it about a day, and when i got it checked and the CEl removed it lso took a day for the CEL to go on again. I hope its just a sensor im gonna go back 2mm but if worst come to worst what should i do? replace it? got with High flow? or just put a strait pipe?

Tell us what code(s) are being thrown and we can help you with your problem. Without the code(s) this is all speculative and you will not get the answers you need to fix your problem.
